Clear ownership with insurance agent first, might have to exclude liability or buy back on some policies.
Only buy if you can get health certs: heart, thyroid, hips ofa, eyes cerf.
Only buy if you plan to to be the alpha in the house.
Mine was one of the best dogs I have ever put my hands on (trainer for 20 years).
Intelligent beyond words, loved cats and small animals to a fault, gentle with children and hyper protective of my now wife. Slept during the day when I was out of town and patrolled all night. They do get serious gas at times and it will wake you up out of a deep sleep.

Good Lord. Rottweilers are consistently in the top five most aggressive dog breeds and the top five that attack humans the most. It will take you less than one minute with an Internet search. But you are going to see a lot of comments from people who have one and say how sweet they are, just like the people who have pit bulls

My neighbor had a rot... from the day it came home I made a point to go to the fence and makes friends with it... I was the only person outside that family the rot would not raise cane about if it could see you...
And to give you an idea of their fierce loyalty to their family, this rot would run around the yard barking and growling any and everytime a thunderstorm would come... when all the other pets around our house would run and hide... Mother nature did not intimidate this rot!!
