John Tyler, the 10th President, still has a grandson alive so Id say that family wins the fricking in old age award

My Dad was 45 and my Mom was 40 when I was born. Also have a younger brother. My parents essentially had two sets of kids; my older sisters who were at least ten years older then my brother and me.
Both my parents were great. The only negative was people sometimes mistook my parents to be my grandparents. Also not having a relationship with both my grandfathers because they passed away before I was born. My father even though he was older was still in good enough health to do "Dad" stuff with us; camping, fishing, playing ball, etc.
If you're healthy enough and want to have kids later in life go for it. Fathering a kid in your 80's like Edwards is just selfish though.

Hit a lick or two for me, pregnancy sex simply cannot be overrated.

My son is 15. I'm 65. Not sure how he feels about it, but we do things together that my dad and I didn't.
I work in a highly specialized technical field and he gets exposed to DoD related "things" most kids never would. We do the normal things dad's and sons do: golf, hunt, fish, work on the yard, work on cars, boating, wakeboarding, ATVing and music (I play drums, he plays bass and guitar, so we use mixers and launchers to fill out our sound. He has friends over and I get invited to play). I actually know a lot more tech than he knows. This summer, we're building a custom dashboard together for the house, and both learning to write code on a Raspberry Pi as part of it. Next summer, we're scheduled to both attend a car camp in Michigan and build a Shelby AC Cobra kit car before building one together in my garage over the next couple of years. Eventually, that'll be his toy, along with all the tools, car hauler and memories.
They don't stay young forever, but until I run out of steam, I try to do as much as I can with him before he goes off to college. So far, so good.

Yep. And my dad was either 58 or 59 when I was born and I had two siblings younger than me. None are longer with us.

Yeah, I think JT was like 70 when he had his last child, and his son who is the father of the still living grandson was like 74 or 75. The Tyler's didn't need no stinking blue pill.

And up until a few months ago he had two living. One died not long ago.
