Anyone here get in funky moods during the holidays thinking of passed loved ones?

Thinking of good times with them and missing them so much around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Always miss them, just gets much worse during the holidays.

The holidays definitely marks the passage of time. It feels like time is actually passing, maybe because of so many events with people we are close to. When someone is missing, it reminds us of mortality.

I do. My mom’s favorite time of year was Thanksgiving to Christmas. She loved the cooking, decorating, shopping, all of it. I miss her so much this time of year.

My mom's dad died NYE when she was I think 5 ... my dad's dad died of a massive heart attack with hunting with my dad in a duck blind about 4 days before Christmas (I was 7).
I knew one but not the other. Christmas time has a cloud over it.

Nope, I do however dislike holidaze other than Easter. They, the commercialization of all the "holidays" pisses me off.
