Anyone here ever sent/received a telegram?

I received one telegram in my 40+ years. I was a kid out of country (1990ish), and my mom sent me a telegram telling me to call her when I crossed back into the U.S. Turned out she just wanted me to get a couple of cantaloupes from the Rio Grande valley.
But, we were talking about how communications evolved over the past 50 or so years, and not a single person in our 20 member office had ever sent, received, or even seen a telegram.

I received a telegram from my father one time when I was in Canada.

I’ve never sent or received any, but I have a few that my grandfather sent to his parents from various postings around the U.S. while training in the USAAF during World War II.
