Those high volume Texas dealerships do some serious business. My sales lady told me that they sell about 25 cars a day during the week, and 75/day on Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

A major plus is not having to deal with car salesmen

Does Texas Direct handle all tax and title work, or do you have to complete the transaction at the DMV back in Louisiana?

Yes, in 2007 or 2008.. I flew into Houston, they picked me up at the airport, I drove it home. It was a 2005 Z-71 Tahoe with low mileage about 7k cheaper than what I could find in AL. I had no issues with it besides a speedometer issue. I drove it for 5 years and sold it.

Vacationed with the owners a few years ago. They are decent people.

In business just like everyone else, to make a few bucks.

Definitely cheaper than Carmax. Can be cheaper than a lot of dealerships, but not always.

I negotiated my trade-in an extra $2k from their initial offer, and got $500 off of the purchase price. We both made out like bandits on the deal though. I got $8500 for my truck, and they sold it the next week for $12k

I think I might get a vehicle from there. I'll bring a mechanic.

My experience with Texas Direct Auto.

It's had a few issues, but nothing unexpected or too expensive for a 10+ year old car.

I would imagine this is the same company as texascarsdirect.com in Dallas? I went there over 10 years ago because their show room was by my office at the time and I felt like I was in a movie. It was an indoor warehouse filled wall to wall with Jaguars and they were all dirt cheap. It was like Nic Cage had just finished stealing 50 cars in 3 days and had to unload them.

I thought something was fishy so I walked away but now I'm thinking I should've bought.

A guy who works with my dad has bought his last 3 vehicles from them. Calls ahead and sets everything up, drives over from BR, trades it in, signs papers, and drives the new one back.

I went to see a 2005 4Runner in 2009. Flew in to see several similar trucks that weekend.

Looked good on the internet photos but looked a lot worse in person. Lots more wear and tear, really dirty too, to the point where you'd think the pics were photoshopped and/or someone took it mudding since the photos.

I test drove it to Sterling McCall Toyota nearby to see another 4Runner on my list and they said the Texas Direct 4Runner was worn down for the price. Bought a Lexus GX470 later that day from Sterling, one of the other cars on my list.

Very pleasurable experience working with them too, if you're out of state. You take the title to LA DMV and pay taxes on your lunch hour when you get home, I think you've got 45 days to pay/register.
