If you change the oil regularly on a Toyota, you can drive it forever. I was still driving my 2001 stick shift Toyota Tundra with 300,000 miles on it up until a couple of years ago. Never had any mechanical issues with it.

Me. 2014 F-150 with about 236k miles on her.

We’ve been through some shite together and outside of normal maintenance I’ve only replaced a starter and a water pump.

I k ow our time together is getting limited but everytime I think of a new truck I get a pit in my stomach.

2007 F150 Lariat super crew with 200k miles. Just keeps going. Starting to get a little bit of rust on the front bumper, but otherwise its still in great condition and runs well. I make sure to get regular oil changes and keep it clean which I think helps a lot. I also never let it get below a quarter tank of gas which is nothing groundbreaking, but it runs great and I love it.

145k is nothing for a well-maintained Toyota.

My 1st Gen Tundra has 340k and is going strong.

I own a jeep with over 200,000 miles on it. Owned it for over 10 years.

It has never had a check engine light. Ever.

It has never broken down.

Original engine. Original transmission. Original clutch. Even the original alternator.

This thing will never die. I love it.

I have never met another person with a 1984 Jeep CJ that is this reliable.

No emotional attachment, but I drive dependable beaters as work cars all the time. I have the "dog car", used to haul dogs and cattle food; the "Buick" (a dependable former "little old lady car", and an older Suburban when I need to haul passengers.

2003 Tacoma, >200k mi. When I get another car, it'll be a sedan, and I'll just keep the pickup.

I bought a 2007 Ford Escape (old body style) with four cylinder used with around 80,000 miles for my daily work beater. My round trip for work is 110 miles per day. My escape has 262,000 miles now and averages 27 miles per gallon. I have only bought tires, a couple of air filters and one battery. I did have to buy a new windshield because a deer tried to jump into the driver seat with me a few months ago. Since I only paid $4,000 for it. I only carry liability insurance so the $250 windshield was out of my pocket. I haven't even had to change the spark plugs. I live on a gravel road and that is the reason I had to buy the air filter.

2009 CRV - 116,000 miles

40 dollars in insurance per month. That’s the only reason I’m attached and no car note

You should take better care of your car if it's a beater after 145K miles.

2013 4Runner, currently at 220,000. I’ve personally changed the brakes once, replaced the u-joints, put in one new battery, and other than that just did regular oil changes. Still runs like a champ, and I will continue to drive it till the doors fall off.

I've got vehicles that have coat hangers as door handles and vice grips to roll down windows. That's what I consider a beater. They don't get used much anymore but they serve a purpose.
When they cost more to insure than scrap get rid of them..
