Some companies spend half of their
income in advertising. We give away HALF
of our income in prizes. Our prizes are
our advertising! It's not an expense, it's an
investment. And it works better than
traditional advertising. You win, we win.

When we audit and see either a deviation from the standard we are auditing against or an opportunity to improve an area of, for example, information security, we can document that observation for the client. We don't assist in implementation, so we stop short in full consultation.

I sometimes consult audio installations. Last one I did was at a local bar.

I've done some consulting work on the side.

I consult consultants. Damn tricky work.

you have to know something better than the people who are there already.
Or have skill sets that are new, such as specific programming languages.
Or an understanding of industrial engineering.
Or a kind of business, or a process within businesses.
None of that's really necessary. I got an associates degree in consulting and now I consult at a major consulting firm.

I was for 3 years before my current job. It was cool to travel and all while I was single, but I'm over it now. It gets old.

I'm a broker/consultant in commercial insurance for large market companies. It's a good gig.

One of the main aspects of my job is to consult people on management of their earth moving equipment fleet. Basically I advise them on operating best practices, how to keep their owning and operating costs low, repair/maintence options, machine replacement, work tool attachments, things like that. Its a good job, pay is awesome, and I generally enjoy it most of the time. It can be a bitch though.

In what regard?
I work for a consulting engineering firm....

I am an environmental consultant. I work with E&P companies, pipeline companies, developers, and anyone else who wants to develop a project that requires environmental assessments and permitting, and dealing with local, state, or federal agencies.
It is a pretty good job that allows me a flexible schedule and good pay. Now that I have >15 years of experience and clients in many different sectors, I am not affected when one industry like E&P slows down.
