I’ve got this one where basically I am back in undergrad trying to squeeze in 21 credit hours and can’t do it, so I decide to drop a class but never actually do it due to forgetfulness during the business of the year and end up failing the class due to never attending it.

It’s a really stupid dream but damned if it doesn’t come up like once a month.

Losing an investor in my hedge fund. That’s a nightmare that I can’t stand.

Sounds like some latent homosexuality trying to emerge. You should speak with someone about it.

I had a dream that S's Maine estate was reduced to rubble!

I think the dream where I’m running away from a giant penis is more about the repressed homosexuality than this one

My teeth either falling out or crumbling like chalk. Happens pretty regularly and I’ll just randomly recall it throughout the week.

Sometimes whole portions of my gum line, too. Those dreams fricking suck.

Recurring dream the OT servers go down and I can’t log on. I wake up in a cold sweat after I see the red stop sign.

I have this dream a few times a year. Lots of people do--none of the operators sitting on their arse reading this right now

In my version of it I always find out during finals and attempt to take the final and have no clue about anything on the test of course.

Eta. It's really bizarre bc during the dream, the test that I have no clue about is very real. And I can read the questions in the dream and it's very coherent. And I don't know the answers. But how does my brain create these questions?

My recurring nightmare only occurs when I wake up in the morning

Used to have those every now and then. It's been at least a few years since I had one

Yep. I fall from a significant height—out of a high rise, off a cliff, out of a plane—and always hit the ground.

It usually jolts me awake.

Happens once or twice a year since I was a teenager.

Well, I hope I’m not the catalyst for your next one.

I’m fairly confident it’s general anxiety related, though.

Snow is falling in the trenches. The mud is freezing, creating a slurry that is somehow even worse than the normal slop that clings to every surface. The icy wind bites.

Then the whistle blows to storm from the trenches. Over the top again boys.

We are a deadly wave, surging forth into no man’s land.

Then the shells begin to fall, sending frozen dirt and carnage raining down on us. The ratta-Tatta-tatta of the machine guns fill the silence between the explosions. Then the screaming. The screams of warriors running over the cursed ground. The screams of the dying boys as they realize they’ve been cut short, and that all their bravado flees them as the bullets and shrapnel leave them mangled in the snow.

Then, that horrid cry goes out. “GAS!”
We struggle to affix our masks as men fall, tearing at their throats, gasping for air when there is only poison.

I get mine on and struggle half-blind forward. Into the barbed wire.

Every desperate thrash to free myself only entangles me more, stabbing and tearing flesh.

Then the shell falls near me and I am thrown in an upheaval of frozen mud. I land, and look down. It’s almost comical, trying to put my guts back in as they steam in the cold.

The spray of gunfire that fells me is a mercy.

Mercy in no man’s land.

One of the earliest dreams I can remember was a reoccurring nightmare from when I was 4-5 where a German Shepard knocked in our door and then came in and ate my parents after I answered the door.

Sometimes I think I do, but they are mostly ones that repeat in a single dream. So I have no way of knowing if they are recurring or repeating.

I did for about 5 years after I graduated. I assume it is your brain adjusting to the working world.

That dream about finals is actually a pretty common dream. I graduated nearly 30 years ago and I still have it once a month or so. It really is odd how universal it is, too....doesn't matter where you went to school or how long ago you graduated.

I have a recurring dream in which I find myself about 35 feet above the ground on some kind of block with sheer cliff edges all around. I'm high enough to where I know I could get seriously injured if I jump down, but, I have to jump. I have to jump because that is the only way to get down. I have no parachute and no way to get out of the situation other than jump and land perfectly to minimize injury.

I always wake myself up before jumping.
