I've stayed in A LOT of airbnbs and I have never really had any kind of significantly bad experience, but I have also never searched any place for a hidden camera. Sounds like the girls might have been into some Peruvian marching dust as well.

I have always figured when renting a cabin or house or condo that there were cameras. Always kind of a thrill when having relations with the wife....

Just kidding....that shite is highly illegal. They should have notified the police. Old Boy in Aurora Colorado had a motel with a cat walk in the attic and did it for years....even witnessed a murder once supposedly. Its a serious crime and it probably doesn't matter if the owner knew or not.....

I rented one in Chicago and the owner was a liberal hippy chic that raised goats and chickens.

She wanted to teach me to make cheese with goat milk and gave me fresh eggs every morning.

Unfortunately she didn't wear a bra and her armpits looked like Don King in a headlock so my appetite was always ruined.

That's all I got.

Had a cousin who booked an Airbnb in the Upper Ninth Ward. Nothing happened to him the three days he was there but he was scared shitless coming back each night. There's apparently a ton of short-term rentals in the Upper Ninth and Central City.

We had one owner show up, who was obviously watching us on security cameras, because we were using the gas fire pit in the backyard. Didn't burn any wood. No where did it say we couldn't. Tried to fine us $500 for using it. AirBnb agreed it was not anywhere on anything we signed.

I was all about them until the fees got so out of control. Plus, the bait and switch of showing you a price that isn't the actual price just to reel you in. I can't stand that. I'm told they got rid of that, but i haven't booked since out of spite.

Too many owners are way over leveraged which is causing their prices to reach levels of insanity. Combine that with absurd "checkout procedures" and, unless we're staying somewhere more scenic/rural, we're booking a hotel 100% of the time at this point. But the former exception is why we still stay on occasion. We had a really pleasant experience at an ABB just outside of Taos, NM, a few weeks ago, as an example.

We stayed in one next to the local drug house in New Orleans. The guys at the drug house were cool and offered us some weed and BBQ.

I was in Manitou Springs a few years ago for Pikes Peak Ascent and the Airbnb had a plumbing issue. It was an older house. I was taking a nap on the couch when I smelled piss. Got up and was looking around opened the closet to see that the carpet and some board games were soaked inside the closet. The drain pipe to the upstairs toilet was cracked. We were unknowingly flushing the toilet into the closet. They got a plumber out to fix the pipe and they had their cleaning lady come in a clean the carpet and remove the other wet debris while we were out at the race.

There was an exorbitant cleaning fee that they tried to charge. We went back and forth for a couple of weeks and eventually got that taken off the bill.

Rented one in college station a couple of years ago for the LSU game. Went out for dinner and drinks Friday night and got back around 11:00pm. The keypad code wouldn’t unlock the door so we were locked out. Tried numerous times getting in touch with the host and he wouldn’t answer his phone. We finally broke a window to get in. The host refunded us for the stay after finally getting back with us the next morning , and we went and got a hotel cause we were all pissed

Old boy I used to run around with took one of the great big old VHS Cameras and put it up on the closet shelf in the bedroom he shared with his wife. He had taped over the LED that indicated it was recording and his wife did not notice it when they in the act of, well y'all know. He tried it again and the tape fell off during the act and she noticed....apparently took issue with him having done it.

Dumb arse had bragged to all of his male friends about it and even showed some of them. Of course some of this group were married or dating friends of his wife and it got back to her in the middle of a New Years Eve party they were having at their house....she went fricking nuts. She cleared the place out with a .9 mm....unloaded that fricker, shot that house full of holes, drunk white folks running eerywhere. Police of course showed up and nobody knew anything so they all left and so did everyone else. They split up for a while but got back together and have been married for 30 plus years....but even to this day if one of us mentions a camcorder she looks like she is looking for that pistol.....

Stayed at an Airbnb that had the AC locked above 70°. Should be required to list if they have the AC locked in description.

It was Gulf Shores during the summer and all of the rooms were on the 2nd floor.

Should have left the front door or windows cracked so it ran until someone else showed up.

he said that they were all talking and joking about it on the way there. After getting settled one of the girls brought up the conversation and they started looking for a hidden camera.

I would almost bet the old girl that found it planted it....I would double down on that if she was the one who initiated that conversation on the way there....

They waited for the refund to go through then removed the outlet cover and camera and flushed the camera down the toilet.

Not that bad/creepy but I do find myself drifting back to the hotel more and more.

It's just not worth it anymore traveling to someone elses house that is often times less than guest services clean then having a list of chores to complete at check out....frick that
