Thread starter, here. We ended up with a regular casper. It's fine, kid (5) likes it. I tried it out and it was too soft for me, but whatever.

Anyone happy with an online mattress

Got a Bed in a Box about 6 months ago and I am really happy with it. I think it is worth it.

Have had a Tuft and Needle for about 3 years and it's just as good as when we bought it. Very happy so far.

Every bed in a box is a bad mattress for an adult. A kid it's fine. Most have cheap polyurethane foam. Purple has fake latex. Nectar is garbage(cost 18 dollars to make a King bed, they brag about it when pitching to companies).

Most reviews are fake, or from really stupid people who do not know anything about mattresses. Of the 8 Nectars I sold this year, 5 got returned. I told the customer multiple times but people are really stupid. There is no magic mattress that tricks the system.

If a mattress last a long time, and holds its feel..the company would go bankrupt unless charging fairly for it. Production, shipping, marketing, research, etc all cost money. Bed in the box companies spend up to 200k a day on marketing(Nectar, Purple, and Casper). So common sense should tell you the materials in the beds are poor.

Let's put it this way. I know every Rep and salesman in the area pretty much now. The running joke is its "as good as a bed in a box" at this point.

You cant make a good mattress that can be vacuumed sealed. Just that simple. A 599 Sealy will last longer than every BIB in terms of consistent feel.

They trick you with shite warranties you think are good. Read the fine print. Then put two and two together. Their warranties are actually terrible. Forever warranty...but for 2 1/2 - 3inches inches of sink. So you'll be so uncomfortable you can not sleep on the bed for years before getting it to warranty viability. They rely on most people giving up far before reaching that.

No mattress last forever. Latex and Tempur material are the most durable, but will last at max 20 years for Tempur and 25 years for Latex. Tempur and Latex are 8-10 times denser than every BIB made. Logically, that should tell you all you need to know. They suck.

Dang, this dude knows mattresses.

Legit sleeps cool and can be flipped to a softer or firmer side.

Get a Beckley.

A Beckley horsehair mattress is probably at least $5,000 but the factory looks amazing: https://www.newyorksocialdiary.com/charles-h-beckley-mattresses/ (lots of neat pictures of old fashioned mattress making)

Going on 5 months with 3” premier hybrid purple matress. I absolutely love it! I’ve never slept better. This bed is extremely cool as in temperature very firm and comfortable.

I've been looking at that one, but ho lee phuk are they expensive. Online mattress retailers are no longer "discount".
