Anyone had rotator cuff surgery?

I had a motorcycle accident last year and apparently destroyed my shoulder, tearing all my ligaments in my shoulder as well as tearing my bicep.
I had surgery Aug 25th where the reattached everything including drilling a hole in my bone and reattached my bicep. I've been in pain since the surgery. When the hell does this pain go away?!

I had everything in my shoulder done. It’s called chronic pain. Good days and bad days.

I’ve had three shoulder surgeries. It’s the most painful joint you can have worked on, because of the 360 range of motion. It’s a very complicated joint.
Do all of your PT and exercises. Take it from someone who didn’t.
It will go away. Keep working it and don’t baby it.

Twice. The first time it took six months to become relatively pain-free. I could handle the pain; the worst thing was the lack of sleep. Every 1-2 hours, the pain would wake me up. The second time was easier, because I figured out how to wedge myself into the oversized cushions on our couch.
Don’t skimp on the rehab. It hurts like hell, but is very important to get a good final result.

Had basically the same surgery back in 2007. It still hurts.

Yes. 4 shoulder surgeries. On was rotator cuff the other 3 was cleaning out the space to attempt to get better motion.
PT is difficult but do it.
It should get better with time.

Oh, sweet summer child. You just got out of your sling most likely. You've got your whole life ahead of you to stop thinking of your pain.
But easily you need more time and everybody heals at a different pace. Now suck it up and get your broomstick stretches in.

I had arthroscopic RC, SLAP repair and Mumford procedure in 2015, I was 47 at the time, healthy, did the work in PT. It was no fun, but I wouldn't describe it as awful and it was what I needed to be able to do the things I enjoy.
Probably worst part was the muscle mass I lost over the 6 mos of not really working out other than the PT. I am pretty sure I felt normal at around 5 months. Shoulder feels great still. Play as much tennis as I like, plenty of time in the gym, no functional problems at all.

I’ve had both of mine done, including one with the biceps tenodesis. It gets better. Do your PT and home exercises, and be patient.

Man I sure hope it isn't that long. Not getting good sleep, can't workout or run. Driving me nuts. I'm left handed and it's my left shoulder. Can't even write atm.
Motorcycle has been rebuilt, looks even more sexy than before. I was able to ride it one time before surgery.

I had a bank art repair of my right shoulder after dislocating it. Surgery was about 25 years ago.
I had two titanium anchors installed in my shoulder bone where the reattached
The ligaments.
I remember the pain was about two months and 25 years latter I still have pain in the joint if I move too fast or try to throw a ball.

Sorry to hear that, have you had it rechecked? I've heard it can retear after surgery and need reattached.

I did both arms within 3 months of each other. Dont skimp on the pt. I bought and built the same setup i had at therapy and did it at home even when i did not have pt. You will need to do that to get your range of motion back. It sucks and will take 8 months to get back to normal.
