re: 10yr olds 1st rifle

Bought my kid a savage axis compact in .243 when he was 10. I did need a trigger job but he’s folded everything he’s ever hit with it including a red stag doe. I use the 100 gr federal power shock in it ($26 at Walmart). You can’t go wrong.

Got my son a savage axis compact in .243. Great little rifle for him. Only thing it needed a trigger job as it was way to stiff.
Super easy. Doing it this weekend. Need a lockable gun case. You pull up at ticket counter they right you a ticket part goes in the case part goes with you. When you get to destination go to your airlines office and they will bring it out to you. No big deal. Have done it over a dozen times.

I had everything in my shoulder done. It’s called chronic pain. Good days and bad days.

Got my son the Raptor 2. Here in Hattiesburg there is a feed store that gets all the Walmart rejects. These shotguns are like brand new and half price of Walmart. It was I a bitch to brake in but since then works great. It’s a little heavy and don’t think it like Winchester Clay loads but those suck anyway. Important take away is we have shot nothing but light loads through it.
Orem/Provo area is the most conservative area in the country. Utah executed someone in the last ten years or so by fire squad. I have many Mormon friends and they are highly pissed. Let them tie him to a pole and televise it!
Had for Ida. They suck arse. Would answer calls or emails. Just wanted me to F off. Had to hire an attorney and go after them. Finally got my money after house had been repaired and sold. Special place in hell for those c0c@ $uckers!
Dirty water will be around for awhile with the pearl river discharge being what it’s been, especially after this system. I started fishing MS coast a couple years ago after moving from Houma. The fishery is not Cocodrie but you can get some limits. My advice is run back to LA marsh and get away from all the boats. Wind has been a bit of a problem all spring but we smoked the redfish on Sunday.

In Mississippi a 1.5 yr old can have buttons. A fawn is not a button buck. Mississippi ain’t Texas.

Where I think it went wrong for us is, they prescribed killing way to may does. If you shoot every doe that comes out during the day all you end up with is does that come out at night. Way too many button bucks got killed even after a fine was put on them. It just didn’t play out well. If you think you need to kill more does then do it incrementally and see what happens and let young bucks walk.

I can’t believe the strike against the fire pin then the delay. The way a primer works either it goes off or it doesn’t. Can’t imagine a scenario where there is delayed ignition. Think he full of shite.

Cons: Not seeing deer anymore. Just my experience.
Ace’s gun dogs in Kiln. Best dog I ever had came from there.

re: Ozonics Scent Eliminators

Posted by Rarnette on 11/10/24 at 3:33 pm to
These things produce O3 (ozone). Which is the gas state equivalent of bleach. Ozone will certainly oxidize any bacteria or smell particles that it comes into contact with. It also theoretically would interfere with deers ability to smell. My question has always been what is the efficiency of mixing with the air containing your scent. But in theory ozone can definitely sanitize your scent. Will it work, let me know.
No. We support the American ideals and constitution not the almighty federal government. Perhaps the most American thing we can do is question the government. That’s what the founders intended. That’s why free speech is the first amendment in the bill of rights. They knew this could be a problem one day.

There would be a pretty substantial effect as long as the Pearl isn’t flooding. Look what happened on the MS coast last year during the drought. They were catching snapper off jetties down there. Salinity and water clarity greatly improved. He’ll last year when the Mississippi basically stopped flowing there were days I could see the bottom in 8’ of water in Terrebonne bay. But when the pearls up sever degradation in clarity. I have seen nasty water at Appomattox. Never under estimate the influence of the Mississippi.
We have gotten to the point where new laws do no good since they don’t follow the existing ones we have. The dollars for the VA are for veterans care. That should be an impeachable offense in and of itself. Unfortunately nothing will come of it.
