Anyone go to Morrison's Cafeteria, as a kid, Easter Sunday...?

Place was the shite... Waiters with white gloves and jackets... Always got the fried shrimp and ff...

No on Easter but I loved Morrison's in Pensacola when I was a kid!
Probably not something I would think is amazing now since I think I usually got hamburger steak and doused it with Heinz 57 sauce but it was a lot of fun as a kid to go through the line. . .
I do remember their Boston Creme Pie.

We call it Piccadilly around here. Piccadilly.
No matter how much I ever tried to get the Dilly special or whatever, my meal never fit the parameters and always cost more than the advertised price.
I also have a vivid memory of finally feeling like an man when I was allowed to carry my own tray from the cashier to the table. That's when I knew I had made it to 'big boy' status and no longer a little kid.

I remember the one in the Bon Marche mall having the dark blue walls with fish and old style sailboats on them.

Absolutely loved that place as a kid. Jazz music playing thru speakers. Waiters in green suits with gloves. Always thought it was so fancy as a kid
Also. Wise and A&G cafeterias. Schwegman cafeteria as well.
Wish I could go back with my kids for a day and have them experience old New Orleans.

That was the place I took my grandmother for years. Always was a favorite. Remember to this day one of the waiter's name was Horace. Used to love the fried chicken. Their custard pie was amazing.

That was my problem too.
My eyes were always bigger than my stomach, and I would grab extras along the way and I would nearly faint once I got the bill
Too bad Piccadilly is just a shell of its former self.
I could go for some carrot soufflé right about now.
The silver slipper makes a similar version. I just have to add some more powdered sugar on it. I know I am fatty.
