Our big family meal outing was at the A&G at the Westside Shopping Center...the same sort of thing you describe...

Never on a holiday, but went a few times as a kid. I think it was on Veterans Blvd. Hamburger steak + mashed potatoes or fried fish + fries. I could never finish the food I chose, but always had room for a couple bites of Dad's chocolate silk pie or cherry pie.

The last one is still here in Mobile. It started over here and is still alive. I know there is a Piccadilly in Jackson, MS.

It seemed like every mall I ever went to growing up had one in Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama.
