Underrated comment right here. Well done.
Speaking of insane prices, what pressure treated lumber is going for right now is ignorant.

Traded my 18 Tundra TRD Wednesday, paid right at $40k new, got $38,750 for it. Unreal. Dealership listed it today for $43k. You can but a brand new one for that.

Sold my 2013 F-150 yesterday for $24,500- the KBB cash offer was $22,700. I didn’t think I’d be able to get a better deal than that even a few weeks from now. Now I’m looking at Jeeps, but damn they’re pretty proud of those, too

Geez, I need to sell my truck. I have a 2016 F150 XLT 4x4 with 28K on it.

Bought my 2020 Tacoma in September last year paid $35k OTD.
Put 7,000 miles on it and just traded it two weeks ago for a 2018 tundra. Dealership gave me $37.5k.
They now have it listed on their lot for $39k.
You bought a new truck, and then decided to trade it 6 months later for an ‘18. Now the dealership is listing that used truck for more than it cost new?

dealerships are basically having to pay retail for used trucks at auction right now. Went to Adesa with my uncle the other week, and a 2020 Chevy with 4,000 miles went for $2,000 less than the MSRP of a 2021 model.
I traded in a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT V6 2wd with 27,000 miles 2 weeks ago, they gave me $21,000 for it. If it was 4wd they would have offered 26k, but I also wouldnt have traded it.

I drove by Allstar chevrolet, and their truck lot looks like a ghost town.

Wait. How does this work and why?
How and why would someone buy a $35k used truck?
What’s the business model here? I’m not grasping it
Maybe a cash individual sale maybe because people are hiding income? Odd

Tell them you'll be calling back when you get out of this bankruptcy next year........works every time.

As someone who was shopping for a vehicle for a month, I believe him.
There is a huge shortage on used stuff right now, and another shortage of new looming. prices have been climbing like crazy for the laat year. Every dealer I've talked to said 2020 was the best sales year in their history. And all said May and June of last year were the 2 biggest months in history.
I ended up buying new, because used prices were the same as new. Last truck I test drove before I bought my Gladiator, was a 2016 F150 Platinum 4wd with 30,000 miles. Dealer wanted $47k.

Luckily used van prices haven't been influenced as much. I'm looking at several express cargo awd vans. I can get one for 24k with under 30k miles. Just gonna have to get it from up north. Gonna make me a camper van.
Duramax passenger van for 39999 with 66k miles. Might be it

I have a '99 Silverado regular cab short box. Twice I've had a knock at my door someone wanting to buy my truck. Last year I was offered $9,000 for it. I turned it down. I love my truck.

10 sheets? Seems like it, with these wood prices

I thought everything would cost 20% more where you are
Posted on 4/17/21 at 8:10 pm to lsu xman
I shoulda invested in an F-250 instead of buying this stupid house.
Posted on 4/17/21 at 8:11 pm to RogerTheShrubber
The problem is replacing it. its crazy they are still making money buying used trucks at these prices.
Posted on 4/17/21 at 8:14 pm to shutterspeed
I dont know. Suburbs or Dallas people are getting 5% above asking price. Just depends where you are. If you dont have a long commute and 5 kids. Now would be the time to rent and lease a car. Seems like selling the stuff that's in demand would profit. But then again what good is money when the revolution occurs.

Paid 19k for my used 2012 f150 about 2 years ago. Was originally looking at 2015’s and 2016’s but kept on going back a year until I reached my price range.

It's crazy my brother had the same thing happen. Got more than he paid 1 month later and bought a new car.
