Don't wait until a month before.

The end.

Not happening bud. My wife applied 6 weeks ago and the only status update I have is that they received the application and old passport.

Physically go to a post office. Any other way is a waste of time. I waited like 2 weeks for the Walker post office to call me back and say they didn't have any slots available. I walked into the post office off Bluebonnet and they processed me same day. You'll likely need some intervention as mentioned for a rush passport.

I used FedEx. They have an expedite service that seems legit. It's pricey ($130) but they walk you through everything, including setting up an appointment to get your pic taken.

They email you when your packet is shipped to them, when they've reviewed it to make sure everything is correct, when it ships off to the government, and when it is on its way back to you.

We are going to Cancun in October and I used the service back in May, last email I got was that the government had received my packet. So hopefully I'll be getting it back soon.

Don't drag your feet, these things are taking a LOT longer than expected.

Thanks Covid

A little more info from Texas Tower after I read that yours is destroyed (don't know if that means it's damaged and you have it or that a bald eagle flew away with it):

Replace your lost or damaged passport in as little as 24 hours:

I did the same day and had to use FedEx 1st Overnight with signature release.

Again, I can't recommend these guys enough. I was VERY skeptical, but my friend swore by them and they did everything they said they would to the letter.

You aren’t getting one through the government in 4 weeks. You’ll need to go through a private company that can expedite the process. I was in a bind a few years ago and did that and they had a new passport to me within a week. That said, it’s expensive as frick because they know you’re in a bind and they have you by the balls.

Travel directly to New Orleans or Atlanta. You will get it faster at the passport office there. That is where they go in this area for approval.

There’s an “expedite” option when you first apply. You need to pay a little more but they usually can turn it around in around a month. Hope you did that..

I believe if you go to New Orleans you can get one same day or at least it used to be that way.

Edit also Texas Tower is legit. I know someone who used them that needed one in less than a week and it got done. It will cost you but id better then missing your wedding.

Had friends in the same situation recently. They had success contacting Kennedy's office.

Go to New Orleans...place near superdome area.

No quicker way. Period!

You’ll have to go to New Orleans or Houston. Not sure if they resumed the expedite option yet but it was unavailable as of 4-5 months ago

I know a family member had to drive to Houston due to New Orleans being completely booked recently

You have to have an appointment to get in the building in Nola now. They were booked up for over two months out. We had to stay on the phone for hours to even get a person on the phone to try and schedule an appointment. All of their services are delayed right now.

Incorrect.

OP is already working two much faster and easier options.

Mine took about 2 and a half months to renew earlier this year. As others have said in this thread, you won't be going on that trip in 4 weeks.

Yes he will. There are private companies that can turn them around in 24 hours and overnight them to you. Even during COVID.

Source: me that used said service.

It’s expensive, but OP probably shouldn’t miss his wedding.
