A good number of times. On those occasions I was invited by family members and friends to join them. I was comfortable just being alone and having some quiet time. I realize that I need a lot of "me" time.

Chill out man. It’s nothing to get all worked up about. People who are alone on Christmas should keep themselves busy and enjoy the day. Plenty of posters on here have the same sentiment.

I’ve had many wonderful Christmases with family and friends and several alone. It gets harder the older I get to be alone but I just look forward to the day being over with.

I enjoy being at big family gatherings for the holidays. Know everyone could be the last with again parents on both sides.

Yep. Had covid last year. I was supposed to leave and meet the wife and kids at the in-laws but tested positive the day before I was supposed to leave. Watched them open presents on FaceTime 200 miles away, and a drank a bunch of Tito’s that my neighbor went and got for me. shite was miserable.

Last year my wife and youngest three left after lunch to visit her grandmother. My oldest 2 didn’t come over until 6 or so. I had 4-5 hours alone and was completely miserable. Depressed isn’t a strong enough word.

Spent Christmas 2001, 2003, 2006, 2009 and 2016 basically alone while deployed or stationed in the shitholes of Iraq, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia.
