I haven’t in a while but I used to, and had been out of school for quite some time and still had vivid dreams of being in school; wake up, and just was relieved it was all a dream. I have some advanced degrees, so I have been in school probably more than most, and it was all I knew for a long time. That level of competition, those goals and rigorous work ethic to achieve in each goal and class, just does something, long after you graduate….It does fade in time, though, but I had these occasions up in my 40’s

Yeah, mostly of high school though. I did have a college dream recently where I found myself in the wrong class on the first day. I was too embarrassed to get up and leave and the longer I sat there, the longer I had to stay put. When class was over, I couldn't find my way out of the building until waking up.

You just described my dreams. Same as you. In 40’s. Was an avg student. Etc etc. Normally I also dream i forgot about a class on my schedule, too late to drop so I just have to wing it on the midterm or final and the feeling of impending failure is a nightmare

Almost 36 and still have random vivid dreams about walking the halls with a long term HS gf, living life outside of school, etc.
Funny part is, I only dream of her and rarely if ever think of her during waking hours.
I guess feelings during that time are soo intense, it formed some really vivid memories.

A few times a year I have the dream that I get a call from the dean saying that I never finished some obscure lab and therefore didn’t really graduate.

Yes, but for middle its middle school, which is strange because it includes people I went to middle school with and most of them I have not seen since middle school.
These are people I haven't thought about in almost 30 years and then all of a sudden they appear in my dream. I probably wouldn't even recognize them today. Then when I wake up from the dream I have this strange feeling.

I'm 53, graduated from college 30 years ago and still have them, although less often the past 5 years. I figured it is indicative of the stress that college caused.

I never skipped class, except Materials where that dude didn't speak English (da hell is atomic lumber?). Dreams are always where there is a test and I am just realizing that I even had the class and had never been to it.

Yes, few times a year, typically about me forgetting a class or major assignment all semester. Still happens even though ive been out of school 4 years. Huge relief when I wake up and realize it was BS.

Had the old faithful “ last semester of senior year. Just realized I hadn’t been to a class all year and wouldn’t graduate if I failed”.

Yep. Always end up failing tests and it being right at the deadline to still get a W. Graduated in 2003

had this happen a lot after passing my boards after pharmacy school... woke up panicked, thinking i had an exam, and i overslept, or didn't study, or forgot about he test until that morning.... would take a second to realize i'm not in school anymore and i don't have anymore tests to take...

I have never had the school dreams but used to have one where my M16 wouldn't fire. I could pull the trigger all the way back and it just wouldn't quite release the pin. I would always wake up in a pool of sweat right as the enemy combatant was raising their weapon to fire.
The trigger issue stems from when I was a kid and one of my cap guns got worn down and you had to pull the trigger all the way back and kinda wiggle it to get it to fire.

My dream is I’m in HS and the tardy bell is ringing for my 1st class and I’m standing in front of my locker and can’t remember my combination. I panic because I can’t get access to any of my things I need for any classes.

Had the class one a lot… and all the variations discussed… usually in situations where life is out of control such as company shutting down… layoffs coming etc…
Have had To even go back to high school because I missed a class… and I needed it to validate my college degree and job…
Dream meanings are fascinating and amazing how many of us have the same ones in concept … let’s all go flying !
