Anyone ever have dreams about being back in school ?

Im in my 40s so have been out of school for many years.. but every once in a while ill have a dream, the same dream every time, that im back in college and trying to figure it all out.. ill be late for class, stressing out and unprepared or trying to figure out how to graduate… then, before i wake up- I always realize, ‘Wait- i already graduated.. i already have a degree, why am i putting myself thru school again ??’… it’s always this huge relief , and then i wake up… the thing is, i dont get why im still having these dreams this late in life.. i had the normal worries and anxieties in high school and college, but it wasnt crippling or anything..i was a very average to below average student, and i barely graduated- but it hasn’t hurt me in my career, since i think that after you get the piece of paper, success mostly comes down to your hustle.. i guess dreams arent supposed to make sense .

I haven't in a while, but I used to. I was always back in middle school, though, and had no idea about a quiz or test or something. I always freaked out in the dream and woke up.
It was funny because in real life I never would have been that worried about one exam.

Yes
Every few months I have the dream where I've registered for a class and haven't really gone, and now I've got to go take an exam unprepared to graduate.
For me this is based on real life, as I had two undergrad classes where I didn't go and came in to one of the final classes to cram/prepare only to find out we were taking the exam early. Twice. Same professor.

Yes I have a very similar dream. I’m 37 so it’s been 15 years since I was in college but I have a pretty frequent dream where it’s the end of the semester and I haven’t been to class all semester and don’t know where my classes are or who my profs are and I have to figure out how to pass the class

My dream was (haven't had it for awhile) showing up to learn I had a test in a class I'd forgotten to drop

I've had many of the same. Show up for the final and realize you hadn't been to a single class all semester. Or try as I might I can't remember my schedule.
I've had variations of that where I'm back in the Marines and can't remember how to fly the helicopter.

For everyone who has this dream (and tons of people do apparently) - did you all skip tons of classes? I did so I assumed that's where it came from.

Haven't had any in a while, but I used to have this dream about skipping pretty much every speech class and then panicking because I forgot about the final. I'd wake up freaking out, only to remember that I hadn't been in college in years.
Funny thing is, I had a speech class that was web-based (interpersonal communications), and I basically waited until the last 2 weeks of the semester to take every test.

Yes. I think they are fairly common.
I’ve had a bunch of types. Sometimes I’m an adult going to HS, but I can never remember my class schedule.
Sometimes I am in college and have finals coming up for a class I didn’t drop or haven’t been to the whole semester.
I’ve also had some where I go to grad school and fail miserably before realizing that it doesn’t change the fact that I completed undergrad.
I’m a lucid dreamer, so I will realize what is happening mid dream.

I have a recurring one where I'm enrolled in a class I have no interest in, so I consistently cut class. But when test time comes I start getting really stressed.

Well.....I used to only show up for the exams, and read half the text book beforehand after eating a bunch of addys.

Yes, I’m a high level executive. Electrical Engineering degree and cheated my way thru my last year. I stress out it’ll all catch up with me at some point even tho I’m not in a technical role. Honestly have nightmares about it waking up sweating.

Dunno but my freshman year at LSU(spring semester,) I had a Calculus final first thing in the morning and we were heading for Pensacola immediately after. Had a hs buddy in town for the trip who’d already finished his finals at another college. We didn’t get in from partying till the wee hours, I overslept and talked him into taking the final for me.
