Anyone ever had blood in their stools? When to worry?

It’s only happened twice and it’s bright red. My dad had hemorrhoids so I’m hoping that’s all it is.

Go get a colonoscopy immediately

Bright red usually means blood on your stool, not in your stool

Go see colorectal doc and get checked out.

If you're not pooping enough, especially if it's too hard, it will cause that.
Hydrate. Bright red means the source is "right there" as opposed to elsewhere in your digestive tract. If it was black, then it's not fresh and could be a real problem. Take a fiber tablet a day like this.

It could be a number of things. Hemorrhoids, to Proctitis, to colitis to cancer....Also a gastro doc told me that if you are not properly hydrated sometimes that can create the problem as well.

Unless you are doing something that obviously says "may produce blood in stools", right the frick after it happens. Only time I had blood in my stools is when my doctor put me on an iron pill. You figure out real quick when you've had too much iron.

Yupp, bright red when I was like 22. Got a colonoscopy and found out it was nothing; hasn’t happened since but colonoscopies are completely painless and there’s no excuse not to get one and get yourself checked out.
The strangest part for me was finding out how many other people had colonoscopies young, come to find out like half my friend group at the time shared they had to get one once I shared I had one upcoming. It’s not uncommon at all and nothing to be embarrassed about man. Get yourself checked out.

Tell your boyfriend to use more lube.

If it's the first time it's happened to you, always get it checked out. Could just be a hemorrhoid (bright blood tends to be lower in the tract) but best to rule out anything more serious.

Bright red on toilet paper probably hemorrhoids

You would know if you had a hemorrhoid.
If you don't, see doctor immediately.

Maybe it’s just me, but if I had blood in my stool I would head immediately to my doctor.
