re: Anyone ever gotten LASIK done twice?

I think I’ll only do something like this when I’m older. I need glasses for distance but not close up. There is limited long term data of this procedure but if y’all are needing it again why would I want to come out of pocket twice?

My doctor said there was a lot more risk doing it again compared to initially, and recommended against it. So I wear a disposable low power contact for distance in my right eye. Still don’t need readers, and I’m old.

Waite has it done twice in three days. Had it done everything went fine, but one of the meds they gave her made her sick and her puking make the flaps the cut peel back. So she had to go back and have it done with no medication. They couldn’t even numb her eyes because they weren’t sure which medication made her sick

I'm in the same boat, about 12 years out, and my distance vision in one eye is slipping a little. I've seen two friends who had LASIK at the same time return to glasses after their LASIK "wore off" as one guy said.

The doc who did the first procedure said he would tune it up, but I haven't pursued it in detail yet. Somewhat hesitant because I had a good bit of dry eye and light sensitivity for months after the first one, but I can't stand the thought of needing corrective lens again for distance.

Have needed readers for years, but that is a different issue that LASIK doesn't correct unless you get monovision (laser one eye for reading and one for distance). During the workday, I use a disposable reader contact in one eye instead.

Ive had it done twice. First time in '99. I was 20/400 before, 20/20 after. Doctor LaHaye told me I was good for 10 years. He was right. I could tell my vision was not as sharp by mid 2010 so I scheduled a visit with Dr D in Houma. He peeformed the 2nd Lasic procedure in March of '10 and my vision was back to 20/20. Im still 20/25 as of last week

Leave it alone and get corrective glasses. It’s not worth the risk.

I need glasses to read small print close up and have thought about looking into Lasik. I feel like we are on the cusp of a medical tech revolution, though, and think I should wait a couple years. Between stem cell therapy, AI, peptides and numerous other technologies coming down the pike, going under the knife (or laser) may seem medieval in a decade.
