I saw an episode of North Woods Law where one of the game wardens arrested a guy for DUI on a 4 wheeler on his own property. The drunk ATV guy was about as white trash as you'd expect.

Very broad law - so yeah, I guess this could happen!

§98. Operating a vehicle while intoxicated
A.(1) The crime of operating a vehicle while intoxicated is the operating of any motor vehicle, aircraft, watercraft, vessel, or other means of conveyance when any of the following conditions exist:
(a) The operator is under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

The cops could set up on any golf course and make a killing.

probably more likely to get a public intox if it was their property. unless they were an a-hole or going on roads threatening cars.

But it is bullshite that you can get a DUI on private property in several states because you have the potential to commit a crime

quote:

"Laws that prohibit DUI on public and private land alike guard against the possibility that a drunk driver will venture onto a public street or highway and endanger others."

I had a friend in college get one on a electronic scooter. He was at a gas station late at night and a cop asked him if he had been drinking. He replied “who gives a frick, it’s a scooter.” Immediate cuffs

I've been bottle of bourbon drunk riding through the woods in my suv and stopped by a game warden.

He asked me what I was doing.

Told him I was doing the same thing he was. Killing time and keeping those off the property who shouldn't be there.

He laughed. I laughed. The world kept turning.

It takes a real POS to issue a DUI off-road when someone is cruising and not acting an arse.

Just to kind of touch on the GW part, I know the agent that got shot while on duty up here in NE LA a few years back (he is even back to work, Praise God). He is about as strict as they come on making arrests on DUI's. Point being, I would not expect to get a walk on one while operating a vehicle on a public road just because you are pulled over by a GW. Now if you are just riding around on your own property, I think you would have to be stupid drunk and acting like a complete arse to get popped on one by either a GW or a LEO.

As for the original question, I know a guy that got one riding his tractor down 165 in Monroe.

What got the cops on private property in the first place? Unless somebody's pissed off wife called the cops because her drunk husband was chasing her dog on the riding lawn mower, I have a hard time seeing this happen.

Rock flying and hitting a vehicle, human, or window.
Accidentally injuring himself or a family member which requires medical attention, which is reported to police.

Yes, it was a feeder road from his farm to the main hwy to Franklin Tn. About six months later he wrecked his Mercedes on the same road. Old George could party.
