Or know someone who has? How’d it go down? What were the legal proceedings like?

No. But I got. Hit by a beer can someone threw at me. From a passing truck. Dually with glass packs.

Drive by deerings are the worst

It’s probably happened to like 2 people ever.

It technically can - just wondering if it actually ever has

I would think that as long as you weren't on the road you'd be fine.

They can tag you in your own yard or driveway

I thought the same thing when I was drink riding on my horse.

That's like hitting for the trashiness cycle

Very broad law - so yeah, I guess this could happen!
§98. Operating a vehicle while intoxicated
A.(1) The crime of operating a vehicle while intoxicated is the operating of any motor vehicle, aircraft, watercraft, vessel, or other means of conveyance when any of the following conditions exist:
(a) The operator is under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

Literally thru a property damage complaint or and personal injury caused by the mower to a 3rd party.
Police called....and from there, anything could happen, including canine deaths

List the State or States this can happen in. I need to make sure I never do yard work there.

What got the cops on private property in the first place? Unless somebody's pissed off wife called the cops because her drunk husband was chasing her dog on the riding lawn mower, I have a hard time seeing this happen.
I've had many a beer while mowing. No DUIs.
I did have a friend get a DUI in Biloxi for driving a golf cart on the sidewalk of Hwy 90 in about 1990. He was headed from the liquor store back to his trailer park on a beer run. He took the golf cart instead of his car because he'd been drinking and knew he was probably over the limit to drive on the highway. I still believe that he got fricked.
