Tears of joy sleeping in
The wide eyed excitement of a 5 year old on Christmas morning is well worth being awakened at 5:30 once a year.

Know what you mean. Played a couple games of chess with 18 year old though, old man still undefeated. I feel like that is the only game you can never give your kids a break on.

We’ve done a Christmas puzzle in my house since I was little. We continued the tradition when I had kids. Even now my grown kids still get on the floor and do the puzzle on the coffee table.

I’m in the ER , my 16 yo got a boxers fracture from hitting the wall . Typical kid , take a deep breath next time when he gets frustrated.
Dude that sucks, but I was the same way as a kid. I couldn't control my anger sometimes no matter what. Luckily, I out grew it, but from 14-17 was a roller coaster of testosterone and rage.

No. I hate them MFers now. 13, 15, 17. All they do is talk back and think they know everything. I want them to all be 21 asap.

I really hope nobody is asking pics of a 11 year old.

Much appreciated! Glad a few could handle it!
I still find it a little overboard when there’s comments about people in basic training, then replies of “thank them for their service”...doesn’t compute

It might not stop at 21. The oldest has been a pain in the arse for years now. The youngest hasn't started yet but she's been more expensive.

Thinking of them as babies and toddlers on Christmas morning. How fast those days went by. Those with little ones, hug them and hold them all you can!
I’m with you 110%, my brother. I have two girls who are now teenagers and it seems like just yesterday they were toddlers. I get emotional every Christmas about this very thing. I miss the years they still believed in Santa Claus. To all you young Dad’s out there....cherish the time you have with your young children. It goes by so fast and you can’t get it back.

I miss the littles:(
But, my teens are super sweet kids and have been a pleasure to hang out with today.

You will miss those times.

My oldest is 13 and I know my time with him as a boy is fleeting. Sad to think the boy he is now is, in effect, not long for this world.

Everything’s changed at Christmas but you by Drew Holcomb

quote:Years ago (ten to twelve) the oldest got roller blades for Christmas. He then went out and fell twice in a row on his right wrist. First one badly sprained it, second badly broke it.
I’m in the ER
Spent the day at Womack Army Medical Center getting it re-set through traction. I was impressed that he did not take any form of anesthetic. He watched the procedure through the entire process.
The joys of Christmas.
