Sometimes, but growing up in late 70s and the entire 80s really can't be beat.

Boy, the way Glen Miller played. Songs that made the Hit Parade. Guys like us, we had it made. Those were the days Didn't need no welfare state. Everybody pulled his weight Gee, our old LaSalle ran great. Those were the days And you knew where you were then Girls were girls and men were men. Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again. People seemed to be content. Fifty dollars paid the rent. Freaks were in a circus tent. Those were the days Take a little Sunday spin, Go to watch the Dodgers win. Have yourself a dandy day That cost you under a fin. Hair was short and skirts were long. Kate Smith really sold a song. I don't know just what went wrong Those Were the Days

Interesting song, sung by the biggest television bigot in the 1970’s.

I was a kid in the 80s. Would have thought being in my 20s back then would’ve been cool

Perhaps Black on Black gun violence is more common, but there were still razors, knives, lye, ... Black violence in the Black community isn't new.

It isn’t but it’s completely out of control now. It will only continue to get worse until it is actually addressed instead of tip toeing around the problem due to fear of being labeled racist.

I'm sure there would have been things about the 50's that I liked (less people for example), but overall, hell no.

The 50s sucked for anyone who wasn’t a white male in the US or Western Europe. It was an extremely shitty decade for like 90% of the world.

It was a simpler time, and men were men. Would be nice. If you didn't have internet, you wouldn't miss it.

Not if you are a child, a woman, a gay, or a black.

But if you are a white, adult, straight man it was a pretty great time.
