One of the weirdest sensations I’ve ever had (and most others I’ve talked to about it) was being 40,000 ft up in a plane over the Pacific Ocean (on way to Vietnam) in daytime on a cloudless day. Everything was blue planet blue sky blue. One could distinguish no horizon line. It was like being in space, or a dream. Completely cured me of what little “aviophobia” I might have had.

Take an edible once you make it thru tsa. I don’t have aviophobia but I do get anxious about flying and this helps tremendously

Tell me more about your issues. I fly 150 flights a year and have about 2m miles under my belt. I actually posted travel tips today on LinkedIn. Happy to help.

No, but I flew through that Pre-Christmas blizzard twice last year and frick it was white knuckle for hours.

Glad to even make it home. They refused to do drink service on the Billings to Denver flight and even said we were all on the honor system for seat belts, tray tables, and seat backs. They wouldn't even let the attendants get up.

Then we had to abort the landing due to strong crosswinds blowing dust across the airport.

I've been in three aborted landings now and don't fly all that often.

Never bothered me until I had a dream I was on a plane and it started going down. Everyone was panicking, screaming, things were floating up into the air. I start thinking, "ok this is a dream and I will wake up before it actually crashes." Then a ball of fire swept over the whole plane, including me. Woke up in a cold sweat.

I have flown a couple of times since then, but if I can drive, I drive. Besides, it's really not that enjoyable, crammed in an aluminum tube, just waiting to get off and out.

Hate flying. Never get used to it. Hate all the unexpected motions and sounds that go along with it. Have a fear of heights, too. Well, not so much a fear of heights themselves, but the fear of jumping, getting pushed, or accidentally falling.
