You didn't hear Gov. Coumo of NY yesterday did you? He admitted the top 31% of earners in NY pay more than 48% of the total taxes in NY. The rich are paying MORE than their share, 17% more.
Jesus, no wonder conservatives hate taxes. They don't understand basic math and logic. "17% more" lol
Let me make this kind of simple, with a flat 10% tax:
10 people
7 of them make 100k
1 of them makes 200k
1 of them makes 500k
1 of them makes 1million
That's 2.4million in total income, so 10% across the board is 240k in total taxes paid. The top 30% of these earners made 1.7million, so they paid 170k of that 240k! Oh no! The top 30% of earners paid 71% of the total taxes!

Most people don’t use parks and emergency services very often in their life. Granted there are people who are unhealthy and people do frequently use parks but the overwhelming majority do not.

Did your tax bill go up? Rates changed you know.

Simplicity is definitely the way to go when explaining the intricacies of American tax codes

Let me make this kind of simple, with a flat 10% tax:
When half your citizens pay zilch, the rich are paying more than fair share.

Also he completely ignored the second part of your post

A lot of people in this thread are full of shite.
You can disagree with the tax law all you want because it a) increases deficit b) hurts blue state rich people 3) is skewed too much to the wealthy.
but for god's sake, when the data we have coming from the 2 gold standard tax think tanks: tax policy center (left leaning) and tax foundation (right leaning) both find 95% of Americans and 98% of Louisianans have seen a fall in their tax liability after the TCJA, people in this thread are either lying to advance an ideological talking point or have total shitty accountants.
How in the frick are Louisiana residents in this thread getting their numbers?

You are either a lying phaggot or a whiny bitch who lives in NY/NJ/CA.
Either way, nobody gives a frick about your imaginary tax bills.

I see my post is getting downvoted, but sorry, I trust actual tax think tanks with a non-partisan streak who present actual data rather than some dorks on a message board.
Polls show the TCJA is rising in popularity as Americans find out their tax liability has declined.
Hell, I live in a blue state that was supposedly hit hard and mine went down even (though not by much)
Louisiana was one of the states that benefited MOST because it is is the state with the 2nd fewest people who itemize their deductions.
Again, tax policy center, left leaning think tank: 98.7% of Louisiana residents either pay less or the same in taxes due to TCJA.
I don't believe for a second that the 1.3% of LA residents who are paying more are all magically congregated on the OT lounge.

With a $60k income, single, standard deduction your fed income taxes should be $6,500. Total; fed, state, & fica ~ $14k. Per an online calculator.

Local 0.00% 0.00% $0
Total Income Taxes $14,062
Income After Taxes $45,939
Retirement Contributions $0
Take-Home Pay $45,939

I’m upper middle class and me actually getting money back this year is nice. I had to pay last year, not much but a few grand going the other way is a good thing for me.
Don’t be ignorant and act like the tax cuts haven’t improved the middle class and/or the economy.
