Anyone else notice a lot more hijab wearers in BR lately?

Did we recently have a massive migration of them or something? A few years back you'd see a few them around, but now it seems everywhere I go, there they are.
Went to the park the other day and it was overrun with them. It must have been Muslim day or something because they were the only group there, more than I'd ever seen in one place in BR.
Do they just seem more numerous or have their numbers significantly increased in the last year or so?
Or am I just a horrible person for daring to notice demographic shifts?

I've noticed a major influx of immigrants in general (Asian, European, African, and Latin American).
Baton Rouge has always been a predominantly white and black metro area with a few Vietnamese sprinkled here and there.
However, even apart from LSU I am discovering more and more ethnic groups aside from the usual blacks and whites which occupy most of the Gulf South.
It's weird because, despite it's size, I would never liken Baton Rouge to a cosmopolitan city or an international city like New Orleans or Texas.
I understand that a number of major companies have moved here in recent years, but it still seems odd how the population has shifted, ever slightly, from the traditional racial "breakdown".

1. There has been a sizeable Muslim population in Baton Rouge for decades. The PETE and CHEME programs brought a lot of Muslims from Saudi Arabia and Iran in the 70's.
2. Baton Rouge has been a location for Syrian refugees.
3. There's a huge mosque right behind Independance Park and a Muslim student center right behind the PMAC. Both have been there for decades.
