I am old enough to remember when the only two beach bars in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach were the Pink Pony and the Flora-Bama.
Which also explains why I have never heard this song or knows who sings it, even after I saw its photo.

I am glad I grew up in the 80's and pop songs were Madonna and Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson and the Outfield.
This crap now is terrible.

Chappell Roan is legit talented and a breath of fresh air when it comes to original music that sounds different from most of the other garbage.
Reminds me of 80s pop done right. I look forward to seeing where her career goes from here because right now she has a rocket strapped (pun?) to her.
And when not in her stage drag makeup, she's pretty cute for a midwest girl.

It's a great, catchy pop song. It's not about being a stripper, though.
I think Chappel Roan must have been possessed by a true genius of pop creativity for a period of time. She has had a string of catchy earworms.
Hot to Go, Pink Pony Club, Red Wine Supernova, The Giver (which is pretty clearly about lesbian sex, as many of her songs are). All catchy.

I like her better when she was the lead singer of twisted sister.

Good Luck, Babe and My Kink is Karma both made me become an actual fan of her music. It's not just boring mass-produced pop. She has talent.

Never heard of it.

Thankfully, I have no clue what you're talking about.

I only recently discovered this song existed when I saw an Instagram video of Jon Gruden singing it with some hot Barstool babes at their bnb for the Super Bowl.
Off topic, but does anyone else find themselves having no idea what's popular anymore?
My listening habits have not changed in 20 years (I don't listen to pop music) but I would at least always be able to recognize most of the top 10 at any given time either through general interactions, commercials, internet, being played in public, etc. It's like the world froze music in 2007 and no one's changed the tape. It's all still the same stuff from then.

It's also a 5 year old song.
Wait it's five years old?
The first time I heard it was like 6 months ago.
I never go out anymore. Old and boring. It was getting a ton of play last weekend for a half decade old song

it's just a catchy tune. don't overthink it

Its the singer chappel roan or whatever and its about being a queer.
And this singer is a female who dresses like a Drag Queen. Not only is she a severely confused pyscho, she is doing her best to push others to be so.

I hated the song. But my god daughter likes to sing karaoke to it. So I've learned every word.

The people who haven't heard of it.
1. Dont listen to FM radio.
2. Don't have kids or know kids born after 1999
3. Are older than 55
I don't see how this song was missed. Free was right its overplayed. The current overplayed song is that Anxiety and the previous was that skinny korean chick singing about drinking in her apartment.
