We went 10 days without power in September after Gustav with a 3 year old. It was miserable

Which is why I have 4 generators and three window units. It never gets over 70 degrees inside my place.

I don't know what this means but I finally put in AC this year and haven't had a chance to run it yet. Today might be the third time we've hit 75 this year.

It's about to get worse. It's going to be brutal for the next 5 days at least.

I missed what this is all about. Can someone point me to the thread where we learned Mingo is a dwarf?

Also, it's 67 degrees in here right now. I run the AC so I can get under a comforter.

Thank god the talent of the football team where I went to undergrad isn't tied to the modern technology we have available.

It’s too damn close. It’s just gross.

I think we’re supposed to hit around 105-110 with the heat index here next week.

Yep, shivering when cold is burning calories. Sweating is losing water weight and easily replaced with a glass of water.

Yearly Reminder

The official federal government recommendation for keeping your house cool in the summer is to keep your air conditioning set at 78 degrees.

When you're at work or away, the program recommends setting it at 85 degrees.

When you're sleeping, the government suggests you set the thermostat at 82 degrees.

In general, the suggested bedroom temperature should be between 60 and 67 degrees Fahrenheit for optimal sleep. When lying in bed trying to snooze, your body temperature decreases to initiate sleep—and the proposed temperatures above can actually help facilitate this.

I work from home & keep ac at 75 during the day
At night I’ve been setting it at 70 & have been having trouble sleeping

I workout in a garage gym with no AC. So, I’m good.
