I know a lot of these kind of ppl, and while I don't share their sentiment, there is something for everyone and I'm glad disney is their thing and not mine.

If anyone has been to Disney lately you'd see right away that it's not exactly a kids destination anymore. We went over the Christmas break and the amount of people in that late 20's-30's age range with no kids was very noticeable.

I can also catch them early on Magazine and not deal with the St Chares crowd.

The worst? The only reason I go is to see that.

Outside of New Orleans it may sound a little creepy.
New Orleanians understand it's culture and there's sort of a magical thing with Mardi Gras in New Orleans unlike elsewhere

it's mainly just jealous baton rouge people.

Who will get up at 6am to tailgate for 12hr's waiting for LSU to play Jackonville State and think that makes it all worth it to live in BR.

It's not like "Eyes Wide Shut" stuff is going on. There are some deluded mofos on here.

I didn’t mean like rape or murder, just creepy. You know, like Rex with the dancing heads and utter awkwardness of the silent periods.

Yep. You can notice that outside of the city, it’s the trashiest people who really go over the top for Mardi Gras.

Not creepy but I think a lot of people try really hard to act like it’s fun and exciting to watch a parade pass by

I remember MardiGras in the early ‘60’s on St Charles Street.

We had two ladders that my Dad tied to a light pole. The kids and women would all wear homemade costumes. As did most of the spectators.

Parked a car around the corner with blankets around the windows so the women could go pee. It was acceptable then for the men and boys to pee discreetly behind a pole or vehicle.

My grandmother would fry ten chickens and make a tub of potato salad. You couldn’t buy a bucket of chicken like today. Fried chicken places weren’t common.

We would watch Rex and the Krewe of Elks. Not near as many people as today and it was a different world.
