When I started having kids I became less invested, but now that my 6 year old is really into LSU football I find myself investing myself in it for his sake so that we can go to games together and share experiences.

As a chick, I was never a die hard to begin with. I just had years where I had more interest in it and actually watched the games.
Only college football I watched last year was Fiesta Bowl and that was only because I took my younger siblings to the game.
I can 100% say I give no fricks at all about college football right now in my life. I have much bigger worries, stressors, and responsibilities to care tbh.
Who invited the broad into the thread?

It’s diminished over the years. The “innocence” of college football is no longer there as it’s merely an NFL developmental league with basically (transfer portal) free agency. Gone are the days you played for your school. Not to mention, high school recruiting has exploded with the proliferation of social media these “kids” are now being scouted as 7th and 8th graders.

I still watch games and keep up with the tigers. Just don’t seem to care if they lose anymore. I keep my expectations in line with reality. Preseason polls are bullshite.

This is the first year my son is playing football, 7th grade, and I see the sport in a much different light now. I took him to an LSU camp this summer, lied and said he was going to be a freshman, and I gained a much heavier respect for the commitment and talent it takes to make a team like LSU. These boys are special, and they play for us...more of a fan than ever.

I still very much enjoy it.

No
In fact I find myself drawn more and more to the sports less followed too. I guess the older I get the more amazed I am at the ability of the athletes. How can one watch gymnastics and not be in awe of the talent?

NHL became my second favorite sport in 1995. I have a feeling it will replace football within the decade. I love hockey more and more every year.
THAT is a brutal sport with some of the best athletes in the world. 82 games a season, with many getting stitches on their face between shifts.
No NFL, MLB, NBA player would do that shite.

Oh no...some poster with 332 posts doesn't like me.
I'm gonna cry now

I'm not as invested as I was in other teams. I used to watch 3-4 games at a time and have massive hang outs each week for games. Now I just relax and watch the games that I actually care about at each time slot.
I didnt watch any games yesterday. Did watch Clemson on Thursday though.

It's just not very interesting anymore. I liked it when the pecking order wasn't as clear and teams like BYU and GA Tech could contend for a title.
Now it's just Muh Clemson Muh Saban Muh Playoff. Yawn.

I was never a big CFB fan
But I was an NFL fanatic. Try this on for a typical Sunday:
- Listening to Saints pregame while watching Chris Berman on ESPN.
- Watch Saints game while listening to Jim & Archie PBP.
- Listen to Buddy D Point After while watching late game
- Watch Berman highlights show
- Watch Sunday game
- Watch late highlights
Gradually. however, my watching tapered off.
Deke killed The Point After for me.
But the real killshot was the kneeling. I stopped watching the NFL (meaning the Saints) two years ago.
I'm shocked at how little I miss it. I would've thought it would be like breaking a crack habit. But it's been surprisingly painless.

LSU football is one of the few joys that I find in life. So no.
Posted on 8/31/19 at 9:43 am to OleWarSkuleAlum
I have a 1% interest in all sports.
I thought LSU football getting closer would change that.
It has not. I doubt I watch tonight. It's painful to hear these morons drone on and on during the games, saying nothing while never shutting up.
The game itself I now find boring. JMO.
