I've always loved watching the games, but I've never been a hardcore fan. I couldn't name all the starters for the Saints or for LSU, I just love gameday. Once the clock hits 0:00, I'm done I'm done until the following weekend

Love Tiger football...just wish LSU wasn't killing the gameday experience. I've got to admit that part is causing me a little apathy.

The parity in college football sucks. I’m tired of watching the annual bama, Clemson, osu, ok tournament every year surrounded by a bunch of meaningless bowl games that more and more players are electing not to play in. College football could be great but it falls sooo short of its potential. I’d rather watch football on Sundays.

When I was in my late teens and early 20’s, I would sulk after an LSU loss. It did not matter if LSU was playing football or was losing in March Madness. I was depressed for about 12-24 hours.

1/9/12 disaster sent me into a spiral for a week. I was 44 years old at the time. I knew from then on, I needed to reevaluate sports as a whole.

I have seen 6 baseball titles, 2 football NC and the Saints and Astros winning the big games. I can rest now. I don’t let anxiety and depression overcome me following LSU.

LSU has 25:1 winning football NC this year. I don’t expect an undefeated season. I cannot allow “All or Nothing” type thinking to ruin my love for sports. It is what it is.

Less invested because it's rigged.

I'm certainly not as invested in it as I was in college at just after, but I still love football season in general. It's more about everything else that goes with it now. Smoking meats, getting together with friends on Saturdays to watch games all day, the weather, watching with the kids and seeing them get a little more into it every year.

I'm still pumped for big wins and bummed for losses, and I get emotionally into LSU games while they're going on, but it doesn't impact me as much as it used to.

Cycle of sports life. NFL fan through high school, college fan in 20s-30s (still am, just not as much), love high school football now that kids are at that age.

Both suck. NFL is a round robin, touring seminar. CFB is what the NFL used to be.

When I graduated from LSU I could name every player, all their stats, etc from both football and baseball. In the 10 years since I’ve become more and more apathetic. There’s just no point in dedicating so much time and energy to 18-22 year old kids running around on a field. In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter.

When you step away and look at being a “fan”...it’s absurd. That being said we all fall victim to some level of the absurdity. Just try to avoid the team/player/coach tattoos and FB creeping on potential recruits and you should be OK.

Used to be sports obsessed. Les Miles did most of the job of ruining that, but there was a sudden drop in interest in all sports for me. Just didn't want to devote so much time to it. Seems silly to get so worked up about something that depresses you for days. Life's too short for that. I don't need it.

The only sports I watch at all are the Saints, and unlike in years past where I'd watch 'em winning or not, if they're not in contention, I have zero interest then either.

Yes. I used to be 100% inundated by CFB. Now, I’m happy to watch and get excited for games, but nowhere near what I used to be.

Think it’s called maturing.
