Anyone else annoyed by the influx of Chinese knockoffs on Amazon? I can’t search for anything now without wading through 10 pages of stuff made by “FUNYOU” or “HAPPYTIME” or my favorite “Random keyboard punch-SJFJJEH”.

Haven’t noticed it. What are you shopping for?

Most of these are either dropshippers or companies that get their products from the exact same manufacturer overseas just slap a different label or sticker on it than a “name brand”.

No, I'm annoyed that Amazon is doing little to stop it.

I’m more annoyed that major universities all across America are opting to take in Chinese grad students over Americans. It is unfair

They actually use it as leverage to force retailers to sell through the Amazon platform. Amazon needs to be broken up.

My wife bought from amazon some of those little candy hearts that are supposed to have words on them, but they were blank and now my kid is probably incubating corona virus.

Yeah, I quit using Amazon a lot for that. If I'm wanting something specific, I'll go to ebay and find something from a reputable vendor

Amazon is still a great place to buy used books.

Don't have this problem with any regularity and I buy a ton of shite there.

Have bought two items where the reviews were describing a product that had nothing to do with the picture and description. Bought the item anyway, like an idiot, and to know surprise it wasn't what I thought it would be.

Returned it with no problem though.

Great thing about reviews. It’s easy to find quality products, regardless of where they are made.

When all people care about is lowest price that's what you get.

I'm always amazed by people that cheap candy with zero regard for whether it's from China.

Dude have you been to a major university these days?

I have a friend who teaches chemistry at Michigan

He has 7 TAs assigned to him that run the discussion sections for his 300-student class

5/7 are foreign. 4 from China, one from Greece

100%

They've allowed it to get really bad.

I mean you do have companies that seemingly came out of nowhere (mostly on Amazon) and developed into pretty reputable and good brands like Anker and Aukey and Ravpower. But when you want to buy the high quality version of some generic item it's pretty obnoxious.
