I went into my local barber shop today to get my new Iberia haircut touched up, and while I was sitting there I began to realize how much I genuinely dislike small talk as a captive audience.

Anyone else?

Dear Facebook.

Depends on who's doing the cutting.

Depends on how hot the women are.

Could do without the talk but I like when the lady rubs her tiddays on my elbow and forearm when she’s trimming the sides. I figure it’s a fair trade-off.

You are not alone. Shut the frick up and cut the hair and lets move on.

Yes. Absolutely.

But I hate forced small talk in any situation.

I am perfectly ok with silence. I wish more people were ok with it.

A hot female doesn’t bother me.

The worst is a dentist trying small talk while digging around in your mouth

Girl that cuts my hair is hot with a nice rack. No problem chatting it up with her while she does her thing

Moved to a new town. Needed a barber, called to find someone with an appointment available. Went to the guy. He was 82 years old (looks like 62), and had been cutting hair in the same barber chair for 60 years.

It was a great conversation, and I hope to continue it when I go back.

After going to the same barber for 15 years I enjoy talking with him every 6-8 weeks

I hate small talk in general, but especially getting my haircut. It's not as bad since I started going to a girl with her own space, so it's just me and her in there, but still pretty awkward.

Next time tell your barber “hey you got anything important to say? Otherwise shut the frick up and do your job”

What kind of dentist have you been going to?

Yeah agreed. I suck at small talk. I figure I’m probably on the spectrum somewhere because I consider myself extremely socially awkward.

Now if someone wants to talk sports or I know they share the same political viewpoints as me, I’m good. But just little “how bout this weather” makes me extremely uncomfortable.

I'm exactly the opposite.

It feels awkward as hell to sit in complete silence, and I am often compelled to talk.
