Went to my 10 year last fall... it’s hard to have a conversation with folks when they’re constantly having to chase their 2-3 year olds around .

I don’t even have to ask what everyone is doing anymore thanks to Facebook. It’s made them pretty pointless

Went to #10 and then to #50. #10 was fun - most of the hot girls had turned into attractive women, as had a surprising number of the plainer in HS girls. The guys were all still recognizable.
#50, not so much. We all got old and many got fat.

10 and 20 for Woodlawn 93 were fun. I like social shite.
Yea Facebook makes it easier to keep up with old friends but it's also easier to break the ice when you see people once every 10 years.

"hey man. I see your boy is playing ball from your Facebook posts. How you been?"

If you don't like reunions, it's you.

My 40th will be next year, and so far I am 0-for reunions.

5 year

Never understood why any school has a 5 year reunion. I mean...yall all just graduated and are in college/finishing up college. Things haven't changed that much.

Just always seemed pointless and overkill. Never heard of schools even doing a 5 year one until I started posting here(mine didn't).

Too many fools never left HS. For them it's not a reunion, rather, a continuation.

Skipped my 10 year buy thinking about going to my 20 year. I’m friends on FB with everyone but have not talked to some of my friends in a long time.

Went to my 40th in April. I hung out with a core group of guys and most of them were there. We boiled crawfish and had a good time drinking and reminiscing about times gone by.

I have been to 10th, 20th, and 30th. The 10th was the least fun because everyone was so hellbent on telling all they had done and had and how awesome they were. THe 20th was a really good time because everyone was more about visiting and catching up. Just had the 30th and it seemed even better --due to social media there was not a lot of icebreaking to be done, everyone kind of knew what everyone else was up to. I have yet to hear anyone say they didnt have a great time. Our class was always pretty close, though. My husband has NEVER been to one and has no intention of ever going. To each his own, I guess!

ETA: no drama at the 30, and very little at the 20. No fights that I know of, but some hookups after the 20 apparently.

Most don't have five year reunions. The ones pushing that sort of thing peaked at their HS graduation and haven't accomplished anything of significance since.

I try to make them. It’s nice catching up with friends from school I rarely see outside of Facebook

Yeah we pretty much know what everyone has been up to. It’s just going to be 3 hours of eating and drinking in New Orleans. A lot of people there I have known since 1st grade. I am sure a good group of us will do shite before and after. I am thinking about getting a hotel room with a balcony on bourbon and just have a pre/post party sort of like prom.

My ten year was in 2011 and I didn’t go because it’s a long way off and I had just finished a major move. I wasn’t upset about it. The three people I still actually talk to live in south Florida, Virginia, and Chicago and none of them went. I think for our 20 year me and those few buddies are all going to just get together and go fishing on a long weekend in Cabo or something.

I skipped my 10th and 20th. I only went to school with most of those people for 2 years.

My first one is this month. I won’t be there. With social media, there’s no reason. I know what everyone is doing. My friends are still my friends, and the few that aren’t are that way for a reason.

It’s also at 1913, which sounds like a nightmare.

With social media

I agree. Facebook started my freshman year at LSU so I've always known what's going on with people from my high school.

I also wasn't flying across the country to it.

My 10th reunion got cancelled cause not enough people paid. My 20th cancelled cause of 2016 flood.

I’m taking that as it just isn’t meant to be. Both times those of us already in town(or who never left BR)got together informally at a bar/restaurant so we could at least catch up.

New Orleans reunion would be fun. For those of us that went to schools in smaller areas of Louisiana it would be cool to have the reunion in a destination place like Vegas. But there are a few who never left our hometown who would disapprove of this idea.
