I heard Austin Badons solution to the window break ins was to sue the parents of the criminals in small claims court.

Residents wasted their time and those meetings are just feel good rainbow and lollipop moments.

The same politicians who push being light on crime live in gated neighborhoods. If thugs broke into their homes the police would tear those thugs a new one. No kid would accidentally walk into a baton.

Old school days the stupid thug kids use walk into collapsible batons. I think most of them got the hint not to walk into a baton after that.

Moving is the only solution.

Why live in Lakeview anyway ? You get all the NOLA bullshite without any of the charming culture. Its not like you can walk to everything you need like parts of The Uptown, Mid City, Bywater. You aren’t on a parade route or have street cars. You still have to take a $20 Uber to get to places. Might as well live in Metairie.

Did the organizers inform the residents of the new breweries and hotels?

You’re a NLA idiot, aren’t you? I can walk to the grocery, two bars, countless restaurants, the cleaners, three schools, etc.

I’m glad I’m not on a parade route, don’t miss strangers pissing on my azaleas.

You can catch the streetcar by the Bulldog on Canal.

It’s not a $20 Uber ride to the FQ or Uptown.

at thinking living on a parade route or riding a streetcar is desirable for the population funding your streetcars and parades.

Guess you never lived on the parade route. If you embrace Mardi Gras it’s the only way to to it. You get spoiled by it.

I was at the meeting. It was a packed house but the only department that didn’t show up was anyone from the mayor’s office, go figure.
Otherwise I think it was pretty constructive. The police say there are about 100 or so individuals committing 95% of these crimes but there is no ankle monitoring program currently. That needs to be set up ASAP with the addition of more license plate readers. I think that would be a huge curb in the current crime.

The Mayor has zero interest in locking up her people.

Lakeview needs to let the roads get worse so that the criminal element can't drive away so fast

Lakeview fricking blows.

Blows my mind that people continue to flock there. All the bland of Metairie but all the problems of Orleans parish.
