Y’all are a bunch of haters. McRibs are awesome. It is actually the only thing I ever eat at Micky D’s these days. And hot and spicy chicken sandwiches

A friend had a theory that some machine at McDonalds produced some sludge as a byproduct. That sludge is retained and when they have enough they mold it into McRib sandwiches which explains the limited availability. Seemed credible.

One of the best of the later Simpson’s episodes. And yes, I realize it came out more than 15 years ago. I’m pretty sure the last time I ate one that this episode had not aired yet.

They are horrible, they completely changed their BBQ sauce, and they went from shitty to super shitty.

Oh, i'll get one, hoping they finally go back to that old sauce they used, pickles are fresher, not so many onions, and for one moment, i'll reminisce about 1980ish, then swallow that shitty piece of byproduct and wash it down with a dr pepper, ahhh good times, now onto 2020 mcrib

They sell those rib sandwiches year round in the frozen food aisle at Walmart. There is no difference between those and what you get at McDonald’s.

I fine the McRib to be ok.
It's not something to go out of your way for.
The original was much better.
I usually get one each time they are reintroduced.

It's not shite. It's not Peter Luger's or St. Elmo, but it tastes fine in a pinch. In fact, it's not as unhealthy as some want you to believe. It's also not as greasy as many other fast food places.

MCRIB PORK PATTY

Ingredients: Pork, Water, Salt, Dextrose, Preservatives (BHA, Propyl Gallate, Citric Acid).

The ‘pork’ is restructured meat, meaning that there is no real quality meat involved. Instead they use the disposable innards of the pig such as tripe, heart, and scalded stomach which are then turned over to a process which cooks all of the pig scraps in water and salt. This process extracts all of the salt-soluble proteins and congeals everything together into a rubbery concoction respectfully titled as a “pork patty”.

quote:

Notice the ingredients propyl gallate and BHA. This preservative is one to look out for, as it can cause promoted urinary bladder and thyroid carcinogenesis. Studies have noted that BHA and propyl gallate showed additional effects in inducing stomach hyperplasia and cytotoxicity.

quote:

MCRIB BUN
Allergens: WHEAT AND SOY

Ingredients: Enriched Flour (Bleached Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Water, Yeast, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Contains 2% Or Less: Salt, Corn Meal, Wheat Gluten, Soybean Oil, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean and/or Cottonseed Oils, Dextrose, Sugar, Malted Barley Flour, Cultured Wheat Flour, Calcium Sulfate, Ammonium Sulfate, Soy Flour, Dough Conditioners (Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, DATEM, Ascorbic Acid, Azodicarbonamide, Mono- and Diglycerides, Ethoxylated Mono- and Diglycerides, Monocalcium Phosphate, Enzymes, Guar Gum, Calcium Peroxide), Calcium Propionate (Preservative), Soy Lecithin.

CONTAINS: WHEAT AND SOY

That’s almost 40 ingredients for the bun alone. Interesting that high-fructose corn syrup is the fourth ingredient considering it is known to cause pancreatic cancer. (3) If the hydrogenated oils alone don’t ring your alarm, then perhaps the ammonium and calcium sulfate will, seeing how their common usage is as a soil fertilizer. That’s nothing to worry about however, considering the FDA approved it as a safe food additive. Azodicarbonamide takes the cake for unnecessary ingredients, acting as a ‘dough conditioner’. Azodicarbonamide is used in the manufacture of foamed-plastics in the US and is banned in Europe and Australia. (4) The use of this chemical in Singapore actually results in jail time.

MCRIB SAUCE Ingredients: Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Tomato Paste, Distilled Vinegar, Molasses, Natural Smoke Flavor (Plant Source), Modified Food Starch, Salt, Sugar, Spices, Soybean Oil, Xanthan Gum, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Chili Pepper, Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Caramel Color, Beet Powder. Here we see high fructose corn syrup again as a main ingredient.

Wait, they changed the McRib sauce?????

I used to order the McRib combo with the extra McRib. It was glorious.

I also used to weigh 150lbs more than I do now.

So I other words the same as pork hot dogs, bologna, etc.... by the way I worked where they mixed all the stuff together to make bologna and hot dogs then shipped it in large vats to other plants where they molded the goop into actual hot dogs and bologna. The things I saw that went into the mixer that churned out the goop. Yuck

Had one for the first time in my life this week. Was extremely underwhelmed. Probably will never order another one. It wasn't bad by any means but I'd rather a spicy McChicken over the McRib, so that should say something about how good it is or isn't.
