NEW ORLEANS, LA (WAFB) - The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office reported 9-month-old Liam Jamil Allen was found safe early Thursday morning. He was sleeping in a running car Wednesday night in Jeanerette when the car was apparently stolen, deputies said. The sheriff said Terry Doehling stole the car from the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Jeanerette, before heading to New Orleans. Allen will be reunited with his parents at a hospital. An earlier alert incorrectly identified Liam Allen as a 9-year-old.

There should be fines, on top of charges, for setting off that Emergency Alert system in the middle of the night.

TV amber alert went off at 2:28 IN THE MORNING then my phone went off not long after.
Worst part is that the child had already been found BEFORE the amber alert even went out!

I wonder if these things have ever helped find a kid.

I get that these alerts might help...just not sure how they could possible help at 3 o'clock in the morning. Finally just turned them off.... Turn Off Alerts

I think when they are done within 4 hours of the kid gone missing they are 100% effective.

I always have my phone on silent across the room, but my wife insists on keeping her phone right by our bed as loud as it can go. Almost hit the roof at 3. Worst part is, I wake up at 4 and couldn’t go back to sleep. Glad the child was found safe, though.

I was woken up and thought the house was about to get smashed by a tornado.

I got it...in Monroe. Scared the shite out of me, and I had no idea in my barely awake state why I was getting a message about a missing kid in Jeanerette.
This pisses me off even more.
