Yes, it woke me up, but when I grabbed my phone, I saw other notifications, but not the Amber Alert. Now I know what it was all about, thanks! (And now I see the Amber Alert on my phone. Maybe I should've grabbed my glasses, too.)

There should be fines, on top of charges, for setting off that Emergency Alert system in the middle of the night.

If it helps locate a missing child (ultimate nightmare and psychological torture) then no one gives a damn about your sleep.

Mrs fin is going to kick your arse. I have seen her mad.

I have plenty of Hilton Honors points if you need to go get a room for a few nights.

So they woke up the entire state of Louisiana at 3 am? There has to be some sort of economic cost to that. We will never know but I would love for someone to try to figure it out.

so the kid was already found in Nola when they decided to set it off? It scared the shite out of me, and my girlfriend then spent the rest of the night scared and talking about the poor kid.

Baw should get life just for the lack of sleep he caused.

I turned my alerts off a couple weeks ago after having it go off at 230am and then at 5am in the same night.

Abuse of a public service to have them sent out after 10pm and before 7am. This was MS so I probably wouldn't of gotten this one anyway.

Now that we have beat a dead horse over everyone getting woke up, can we address the parents that leave their sleeping child in a running car?

Dude, you know that these alerts has saved many kids lives. Guess you don't have any kids.

I do, and I do. My point is, they sent it out and there was no need for it.

Also, just said a white Altima. Didn’t mention the race or age of the child. Pretty weak alert, imo.

I turned the alerts off on my phone, but he hasn’t. Worst way to wake up. I understand the point of amber alerts, but there’s a zero percent chance I’m going to spot a missing child at 3am when I’m home in bed. Pointless to have it on.

100% chance that the Altima was riding around on a doughnut, had tinted windows, and one of the quarter panels was a different color.

I turned mine off, got it anyway. If they want to turn people against what is a potentially good system, they should continue what they're doing. Waking people up at 3 AM who are 250 miles from the actual incident. What is that going to do except piss them off and make them ignore every amber alert?
