If old man doesn't get involved the roid head most likely gets into the van, yells at his wife, and they leave. Instead the old man has medical problems, the roid head is going to jail/lost his career, and his wife/kids are now without a husband/dad for however long he is in jail for on top of the embarrassment for the whole situation. It was not smart at all for the old man to get involved.

Roid Rager wasn’t physically abusing the women. He was being an a-hole and was about to leave. Old man got chivalrous and will now be eating through a straw for a while.

This doesn’t give Suarez the right to punch anyone, let alone the old man. Suarez could’ve kept walking at that point as well - but he wanted to punch the man.

I never said that it did. I just said the old man should have never gotten involved (for his own sake), especially if he wasn't packing. Call the police and stand by in case it escalates. Let the cops do their job. There is a cop damn near every block in St.Tammany Parish, I guarantee you they would have been there in less than 5 minutes if that.

So the old guy says leave the woman alone or grow up or something like that.
The second the muscle guy took exception to that and walked towards the old guy while saying, "Oh, I can get violent with you because you're a guy" is completely on him.
All while knowing there's a crowd of people witnessing this, recording it to boot.
If the muscle guy just gets in the car, none of the violence takes place.
And keep in mind it's a parking lot of a shopping center so I would think there are security cameras throughout the parking lot showing the altercation from different views.
The muscle guy was completely out of line and deserves to pay for what he did.

I agree with this 100% but gahdamn that old man wanted the smoke. He wouldnt leave it alone. As you say here on the OT, "he fricked around and found out".
He should have STFU and got in his truck and left. The guy who hit him was about to get into the van until old man started hollering at him again.

I bet he wishes he could have a do-over from yesterday's events. It is insane to think someone would throw away their life over this, bullying and assaulting an old man and cussing out some females.
Guaranteed, this dude is a shitty Officer too. There's no way any O 3/Captain in the Army would act this way. Even at the enlisted level it was ingrained upon us to stay out of trouble under any and all circumstances.
