I'm signing my new build contract this week. I'm confident everything will be okay and I will need a place to live regardless. Either not able to pay rent or not able to pay a mortgage.

In all the parishes in S Louisiana recording is continuing as normal.

All I know is that if I need to go get something out my safety deposit box, I have to call for a appointment which can take up to three days.

Some parishes are better than others, but all major parishes are recording on schedule, which is roughly a week later. So far, with EBR having a one day hiccup two weeks ago, all data has been recorded as normal.

I would assume the ones under contract the last thirty days before this hit are still moving forward, but any new transactions may be a lot slower now.

Yeah, this is what I mean. I would not necessarily expect a slow down to be reflected in the date right now. I would expect it to be reflected in the data three weeks from now.

I am nervous about this, we are building right now, and I will need to put mine on the market in the next month.
A neighbor put his on the market last week, and has already had 5 showings, and one offer, albeit a low ball offer he's not taking. Will see if they counter.

Yeah, I'm doing the opposite. But looking for a job in this situation is not ideal. At least I have a job and with WFH, I can brownse listings as my frustration builds. That's a nice outlet.

Slowed for extended family member who is a home inspector in BR. Few weeks before shut down, he was averaging around 15 inspections per week. Week of shelter in place order, 3 inspections. Couple scheduled for this week.

Just signed for the closing for the sale of my house this past Friday. I was a little nervous whether things would work out or not, but then my realtor told me the buyer was a nurse. That eased my mind knowing she wouldn't be out of work anytime soon. Everything went smoothly. I was quite impressed actually, because it wasn't appraised until Tuesday, and they were able to get all the paper work done for Friday at lunchtime.

Governor dipshit has banned in house visits and face to face visits with clients until the end of April.
Kinda makes it hard to see a house, have someone see your house, have inspections done, etc., so, yeah, real estate business is pretty well shut down in NC for a month.
Sucks major arse for people like me who have a special circumstance and HAVE to find a new house pronto.
