Nothing on any of their social media accounts, can't find much online either. It's a really good place to see a show. Hope someone gets it open.

Tipitinas has already started lining up shows, kinda surprised the Varsity hasn't. Lots of bands looking for venues to get on the road post-pandemic.

I have inside sauces. RIP Varsity. The megalith that is Chimes will be expanding into that space.*

Red stick social is a nice venue for bands and shows but it seems like no one wants to go there. Sad because it's a renovated and clean

Restaurants always start sucking when they expand that much.

Unfortunately, I heard the same. That’s really disappointing. I love seeing shows there.
They may have limited shows from time to time, but infrequently

Haven't they had issues in the past with fights and someone shot?

Maybe but I went there yesterday evening and it was real nice. They also added a courtyard area with some local restaurants in it.

I really enjoyed going there for shows but I stopped going because they would constantly lie about the start times of the bands. If the place was packed they would delay as long as they could to get people to drink more. I understand it was business but if I go there for the music don't waste my time.

For real - Ive seen some pretty kick arse shows there since the late 90s and would gladly travel there instead of dealing with NOLA, but what few rock/metal shows are coming to the area are going to the Filmore.

This is not at all specific to The Varsity. Happens all the time with national acts.

I don't see a lot of the acts even coming to La. Maybe it's because we haven't officially opened yet. I'm starting to think that the music acts just avoid La like the plague.
