If I quit my job it wouldn't be to teach. Nothing against teachers I just wouldn't personally enjoy that profession.

I make 54k with 8 years and a master's degree, plus I only work 182 days out of the year and rotate welding/traveling each summer. All in I make close to 65k when I work during the summers.

Career changer. Went from 100k job to 59k teaching middle schoolers. Tougher than my previous job but more rewarding.

Why in the hell would anyone do that? I’d work fast food before I taught kids all day. Jesus.

I know someone who did and almost twenty years of students love the guy and see him as a mentor. Some people just find their calling a little later.

To do it in middle age is foolhardy. Teaching is a great profession but to decide to teach at 40 is a mistake financially.

I thought about teaching after I got out of the service. I decided against that because of all the rotten little shits that you breeders send to public schools.

Yes, but none of the people I shared space with at the shelters would listen. I gave them all detention

The idea that people go through however many years of junior high, four years of high school, four plus years of college, and think “you know what, I want to keep doing this school thing” is crazy to me
