Only one that bothers me is my sister in law that I never see or talk to.

No, and I wish I could.

I see my MIL every Sunday at church. And we usually take her to lunch afterwards. She’s awesome and I think of her as my own mom.

Can you seriously not tell your wife to chill on this...or suggest they meet somewhere else...that's odd

MIL has been living with us since February. A drunk driver running from police ran through a quarter of her house. They just finished the repairs and was waiting on everything to be okayed by some engineer.
Then last weekend, a guy driving a bmw had a seizure and ran into her front porch/slab causing all sorts of foundation damage to the whole house. He hit it doing 60.
So, her residency may become permanent.
She’s always been good to me and is a sweet lady so it’s all good. Although, I do miss it just being me and the wife sometimes.

When she purchased the house in the 70s it was a quiet street. Then they built an airport nearby and redirected and widen some streets. Shes at the dead end of a T.
Its actually happened 3 times this year. The 2nd time her house was protected by her own car. She had it parked up by the street so the contractors could get in and out of her driveway. She didn’t need her car while living with us. Drunk driver plowed into it. Spun it around several times and totaled it. Would have hit the house otherwise.

Mine just had me over for dinner (the wife is out of town for work), it was great. Pork loin, sweet potatoes with butter and cinnamon, corn on the cob, dressing.
That's excessive.

Sounds like bollards would have been a good idea. We had a dumb shite at my kids preschool put her minivan in drive instead of reverse and plow into a classroom of four year olds that had JUST gone into the hallway for snack.
She kept accelerating after she went through the exterior wall.
