Here in NE AL I have known and known of many people over the years, especially from Chicago, that show up in the local communities without much explanation and then usually disappear within months. One such guy got married to a local lady and then died. The wife found all kinds of info after he died about his previous identity. She had no idea.

We have one guy who runs a small deli here in Chattanooga that is a stereotypical NY mobster. He is basically Sil from the sopranos.

I'm 98% sure he is WPP.

Huntsville has its share of Chicago transplants also. The one I talked to came because they are either politically conservative or they were getting bent over on property taxes.

Seriously in the age of the Internet how does whiteness protection still work? I mean I’d think it could be easier to find someone now more than ever.

That'd be a good spot. No one, and I mean no one, would think the look in Flat Rock.

There are certain cities that the WPP loved to use at some point.

Louisville, KY, was one during the 80, which freaked Henry Hill out when he was sent there because it also happened to be near a federal prison where a bunch of people he knew were either serving time or visiting.

it probably helps that la cosa nostra doesn't have the reach it used to, not even close. look at all the former mobsters doing podcasts and interviews. Now, cartels, the Camorra, groups like that, yeah they can still get to someone. But the Chicago outfit is basically like 10 made men, all in their 80s

Covington/Mandeville seems like an ideal drop off for those types

We have some neighbors who we have theorized may be. Moved in about a year ago, mid 40’s, no kids he “works from home” but despite numerous conversations we still have no idea what he does. They seem to have money nonetheless. They rarely leave the house and when they do, it’s almost always together. No social media or internet presence.

Pretty sure trailer parks don’t meet the minimum standard for witness protection
