Anybody else like geography hunting on Google Maps?

Anytime a place is mentioned and I don't know where it is or haven't even heard of it I immediately open up Google Maps and see if I can locate it without using the search feature.
Most of the time I waste so much time trying to find it
Often times I end up locating neat features/stuff that I wasn't looking for. The Island of Stromboli volcano eruption the other day for instance. Check out this sailing vessel I found while searching the island. Google maps

All the time. The other day I was looking for Little League World Series fields in Williamsport and seen that when they did the shot the Goodyear blimp was flying over

All of the time. Look it up on Wiki first, they usually provide location data.

Yep all the time. Mostly to find good fishing spots off the ROW we're working though if I'm being honest. Also to explore all the little towns we work by. Found some really cool hole in the wall places just searching around on there

I posted a while ago about a online game called "geoguessr". It's a game where you get randomly placed in a street view and you have to figure out where you are, or at least guess as close.
However, they just changed it and aren't using Google Street view anymore, but instead are using some other similar "street view"

I got bored at work one day found Glenn's cabin from the show Life Below Zero. It's up in the Brooks Range.

I saw an Apple Map car in town a few weeks ago, I guess Apple is in the game now too.
