I don't like being with a party that continues to talk for awhile after everyone is finished eating because I know the waiter/waitress wants to turnover the table, but in general, it doesn't bother me to go into a restaurant and wait for my food. Usually the food comes out quicker than anticipated because I am talking to whoever I am with and not really clocking my food service.

I used to manage a Hotel that had a high end restaurant. The entitlement of some people is incredible. People would sit and visit looong after everyone had left, not ordering or drinking.

Fact: the food will come out better quality-wise when the restaurant is packed vs. when hardly anyone in there.
When I go into a restaurant and there is only one other table, I’m like “damn it”.

The service in the South is so terrible at full service restaurants that aren’t very expensive. Even a place like Outback or Longhorn has ridiculously shitty service half the time. I much prefer fast casual when I can just fill up my own drink whenever I feel like it.

This was a big problem when I worked brunch as a server. People would camp out for 2+ hours not buying anything else but demanding iced tea refills.

I will tell you one thing. If you bring my damn check before everyone in my table has finished eating you will never see me again. I understand it is a business and the more tables you turn over the more money make. But if you want me out for a certain time put that on a sign when I walk in.

I’m with you. I prefer to get the f out as soon as possible.
I’ve always wished that restaurants would just bring your bill with your food so that you could already have it taken care of by the time everyone is done eating, and just leave when everyone is ready to, instead of waiting on a server.

I would never take up table space just to visit without a much larger tip.
I would also look to see if there were people waiting for tables or not and if so, leave.

I sometimes even eat at chili’s and i never find myself upset with my server
