My SO sometimes says let’s just drink a little before we order so we can enjoy each other’s company longer
Or he needs to drink to not be bored. No offense to you, but that’s often the case.

I'm just explaining my rationale. Could I have written it in a nicer way? Perhaps. But I don't like to mince words. Maybe that's a fault of mine. I can accept that.
Oh, I get it. I'm just saying that your rationale is bullshite.

Nah. We actually enjoy each other’s company

It’s easy to enjoy each other’s company while drinking.

Nah. You just made an asinine statement, and you sound like a miserable person. Enjoy.

I enjoy staring at the hot young wait staff at Sammy's on Highland. That'll keep my attention. Otherwise, I just want to eat my food in relative peace.
This is an either or?
I eat at restaurants in relative peace all the time.

I like to sit there and let my meal digest while playing cards and enjoying beverages.
And then I give a healthy tip to my waitress for taking up their table

don't think there is any doubt this quote is from an older guy. If so, it amazes me that as men age they develop a hatred for people.
The older I get, the more i love animals and the more i despise people. For example: if a bum had a dog and both were hungry, i would want to buy a hamburger and feed it to the dog. The dog cant help himself but the bum can and chooses not to.

I'm okay with spending time in the restaurant. Just last week, I did a 2.5 hour dinner and it was great. Good wine, good food, good company.
What I have absolutely zero tolerance for is waiting to get a table. If a restaurant doesn't have a reservation system, that's fine, but if they're on a wait I'm going elsewhere. That restaurant clearly doesn't need my business that evening, there are a shite ton of other restaurant options, and we'll all be happier if I go to one of them.
I never understood why people would willingly sit around for an hour and wait for a table. It's even worse if it's a fricking Chilibee's that people wait for.

I don’t mind waiting if there is a bar close by.
I love it when the restaurant is full of people I know, then I go around to tables cracking jokes like R Dangerfield in Caddyshack.

No but I do hate sitting in restaurants when others at the table are on their phones instead of visiting. Annoying

Actually the opposite. When you're dining at a restaurant you're not exactly having to casually deal with lots of people. It's easy for introverts to blend in to a large restaurant compared to a diner or dinner party

I don’t even remember the last time I went into a restaurant and sat at an actual table and not at the bar. It’s been probably a decade.

I don't sit at the bar but I much more enjoy a casual, more raucous environment than most restaurants.

That's why I eat standing up.
