Never heard of them but they sound unpleasant.

I'm far more sick of the people leaving the house multiple times per day. Going to the grocery store everyday, home depot or where ever they feel like going and refusing to listen to common sense

Feel free to stay in your house and hyperventilate away.

Give people a definitive answer on how long this will last and you will get more cooperation. You can't be vague and expect people to follow that

This is only true if it meets peoples hopeful or expected timeline. If you give them a definitive answer of May 2021 people will panic and go crazy and that won't work either

When this is over, I want the owners of NextDoor investigated for their role in spreading the virus for business gain.

If they legit recommend a 6 month stay home order, people rightfully so should tell them to frick off

Or you know I can be reasonable and understand there is a pandemic, go to Costco and load up on groceries for a week or more so I don't have to visit often. Maybe bypass that extra trip to Home Depot for mulch and flowers. Not going to go crazy and lock myself in a hole, just be reasonable and follow guidelines

how bout you mind your business and quit worrying about everyone else? If you feel its best to stay home 24/7, do so. No one is making you go out. When this is over you can come back outside.

The best are the Karens getting mad at people literally just walking around the neighborhood. My hood has been doing that bear hunt thing where you put a picture or stuffed animal in your window and pin your address.

Well apparently according to Karen we’re all getting the corona from walking around in the neighborhood on the sidewalk.

Everyone is keeping their distance and shite but they’re acting like its Black Friday at Walmart

If I have to leave the house, I'm going to leave the house.

Me too. If there is something I nees, I'm going to get it. But I'm also an essential business and can't work from home so there really hasn't been much change in my life so I've been pretty much carrying on as if nothing is really going on. I live in a pretty spread out town, not a big metro area and so there hasn't been much change except not being able to go to restaurants to sit down for a meal. Other than that my business partner and I have been hammering away trying to get some business drummed up as we make surgical instruments and firearms parts for major firearms companies and he has been pounding them to send us some work so we can diversify outside of the medical part of our business until this blows over.

You don't have to read FB and twitter if you don't want to. Neither are essential. Relax and close those apps for a day or two.

So it's not the vagueness like you originally said?

If they believe a 6 month stay home order is eventually going to be justified and necessary then they have to be vague to prevent panic. Same with setting a date to end the order that ends up being too early, then they have to extend it once people thought it would be over. Being vague is probably the best approach, we can also evaluate it as more information is collected

And if history teaches us anything it is that the government doesn’t give up its power easily

Please enlighten us of all the times the government has taken drastic actions in a situation and not returned things to normal afterwards.

Spanish Flu shutdowns? Nope. Everything went back to normal in 1919.

What about the war time economy in 1942-1945? Are the Japanese american still in camps? Nope. Everything went back to normal when it was over.

What about post Katrina? Are our streets still crawling with national guard? Nope. Went back to normal after it was over.

I can understand the opinion that these measures are overblown for the situation. What I can't understand is the mouth breathers that think this is some kind of government take over.

There will be blood in the streets. Do you have any fricking clue what this would do to the economy?

The longest they can tell anyone to stay at home is through the end of July IMO

That's when the UE benefits run out

I think you'll start to see some restrictions being loosened in May

I ignore them. This is the most perceived authority many will ever have in their lives. I haven’t missed a beat in running my errands since all this crap.
